Paris Hilton has lost her Malibu, California, house to continuing flames in the Pacific Palisades.
The 43-year-old businesswoman and activist announced on social media on Wednesday, Jan. 8, that her Southern California house had completely burned down. She learned about the loss while watching live television.
“My heart is broken beyond words. 💔”Sitting with my family, watching the news, and witnessing our Malibu house burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to go through,” Hilton wrote in the caption of her Instagram photo.
Her post featured a reporter from Los Angeles’ ABC 7 evaluating the damage along the Pacific Coast Highway after the fire broke out on Tuesday, January 7.
“This home is where we made so many beautiful memories.” It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of making lifelong memories with London,” the mother of two wrote.
On January 16, 2023, the Simple Life celebrity welcomed son Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum via surrogacy. His sister, London Marilyn Hilton Reum, also came via surrogate in November 2023.
Hilton has two children with her husband, entrepreneur Carter Reum.
Although “the loss is overwhelming,” the reality television personality and model expressed gratitude for her family’s safety.
“My heart and prayers go out to every family touched by the flames. I extend my heartfelt sympathies to all those who have lost their homes, memories, and cherished pets. My heart aches for those who are still in danger or who have suffered greater losses,” Hilton said, calling the situation “unimaginable.”
She went further: “To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”
Hilton then revealed that her 11:11 Media Impact Team has already begun contacting charitable groups to assist individuals affected in the town and nearby areas.
