Levi McConaughey is ready to move into the spotlight.
On Friday, June 27, the 16-year-old son of actor Matthew McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves McConaughey, attended Jonathan Anderson’s debut Dior presentation in Paris. The adolescent had never been to a Men’s Fashion Week presentation before.
The aspiring actor sported a blue Dior pullover sweater, beige cargo shorts, and brown Dior sneakers. Levi expressed his support at the end of the performance by releasing an Instagram Story video of the models. “@dior Congratulations!!! “This is so groovy, @jonathan.anderson,” he added in text beside the video.
Matthew and Camila have always tried to teach their children the value of hard work.
“Responsibility breeds freedom,” the Magic Mike actor told Extra in 2023. “You’ll have more freedom if you do your chores and take care of yourself.”
When Levi was young, the couple began to involve him in their professional efforts.
“I have my kids come out, and we put them to work,” Matthew explained at HISTORYTalks in 2020 about having his children on site. “We give them a little cash for catering.”
Levi has also openly congratulated his father. In a heartfelt birthday greeting posted on Instagram in November 2023, Matthew’s eldest thanked his role model.
“People know Matthew McConaughey as an actor and now a writer, but I know him as my father,” he stated in the post. “The man who’s always there for us no matter what, and the man who taught me to appreciate the journey and not just the destination.”
While chatting with PEOPLE at the recent MJ&M two-day fundraising event in Austin, which was organized by the McConaugheys, football coach Mack Brown, and singer-songwriter Jack Ingram, Camila mentioned that her oldest kid had gotten the acting bug.
“Our oldest, Levi, is starting to do some acting. Camila told PEOPLE, “Well, I shouldn’t say much.” ” He has always participated in activities such as working behind the camera, on sets, or in the song department while we travel for Matthew’s work.
But now he will be in front of the camera.
“He got a part in one of Matthew’s films, The Lost Bus, and then auditioned for this other film, and he did everything. ‘He earned it himself,’ she said triumphantly.”
“It was beautiful to see,” she remarked. “He went through a series of auditions and meetings before having to go in person and complete the entire process. And then he received the part. So he has a proper role in a film called Way of the Warrior Kid, which stars Chris Pratt.
