Mother publishes picture of herself breastfeeding child in public and eventually responds to the outpouring of hatred…

The debate over whether women should be able to breastfeed their children in public is not new. In fact, it’s been around for a while. It appears another candidate is eager to make her point.

This young mother wanted to make a point and ended up enraging a lot of people.

Every breastfeeding mother knows that babies don’t care where they are or when they’re hungry. While some mothers may feel uneasy about nursing in public, this young mother had no such concerns. In fact, she wanted to make a strong case for breastfeeding in public.

Trinati breastfeeds her 17-month-old daughter and makes it a point to do so regardless of where she is. This usually means she is breastfeeding her toddler in public. While she is not shy about breastfeeding her toddler in public, this does not always mean that those around her are comfortable with the idea, as she frequently receives strange looks. Employees at stores have occasionally ushered her into broom closets, believing that she would be more ‘comfortable’ breastfeeding inside.

Of course, this wasn’t the case, as broom closets aren’t ideal for feeding babies. This is what prompted Trinati to take action. She made her son take a picture of her breastfeeding his baby sister in Costco. In an interview on the act, she said, “I never shy away from providing my children with whatever they may need from me based on our surroundings.”

Apart from being judged by others, she is also asked questions by friends and family. They Have A Question: “How Long Are You Going To Do ‘That’ For?” Each time, she replies, “As long as she needs me to!” And they usually end with uncomfortable jokes about how she could be breastfeeding her daughter until she is in kindergarten!

Trinati is sick of people sexualizing and criticizing her for breastfeeding. She asked in an interview, “Really? Have You Seen Breastfeeding Breasts? My nipples are far from attractive! Ha!”

She said, “These are basically udders right now. Get over yourself! I’m Not Trying to Steal Your Man or Lady With These Bad Girls! To me, they have ceased to feel like a sexual part of my body. They currently belong to my child, providing both physical and emotional nourishment.

She wants to raise awareness that breastfeeding is something to nourish a child, not anything sexual.

“I don’t expect all men or those who have never breastfed to understand how mothers have the endurance to deal with nipple pinching or straight-up acrobatics while breastfeeding,” she went on to explain. “I have received the strangest glances and awkward giggles when people watch my 1.5-year-old standing on my lap while suckling… sometimes on one leg!”

To normalize breastfeeding in public, she took a picture of herself breastfeeding her toddler and posted it to make her point.

“I had my son take that photo of us in Costco because I never want to forget (and [I want to] show my daughter in the future) the lengths we, as mothers, will go to when ensuring our kids are well looked after no matter the situation,” she remarked.

“My baby’s needs come before anyone else attempts to make me feel inappropriate for this sometimes-public act of nurturing and/or comforting my children,” she said in the Instagram caption.

She wants to make sure her children understand that they are always her priority, well beyond the judgment and comfort of others.

“Trust is a fundamental tool for developing healthy relationships, and it begins with the care that we receive in childhood,” said the woman. “For me, breastfeeding demonstrates this to my children, and for this reason, I will never feel shame for allowing a baby of mine to do this with me in any environment.”
