Neighbors gathered together to repair old woman’s home, but wait until you see the outcome

Anne Glancey, an old woman from New Jersey, received three complaints from the municipality due to the deterioration of her residence.

Among the others, she had an old automobile in her driveway that she wanted to get rid of or park someplace else. She also let her landscape and house get overgrown and covered with peeling, flaking paint.

Unfortunately, due to her age and lack of funds, this woman was unable to repair her home.

Fortunately, Anne’s neighbors have been folks with big hearts, notably a couple who learned about this lady’s problems via a real estate agent who was selling their house.

To assist Anne in keeping up with home maintenance, they organized roughly 20 volunteers from the neighborhood and handled the task themselves, and what a difference they made.

“Anne was, and is, extremely grateful for our dedication to her property and her soul,” neighbor Kristin Polhemus, the project’s founder, stated. “The project has inspired her to continue improving her home, both inside and out, and it has established new relationships between Anne and our neighbors.”

“These violations carried a fine of up to $1,000 per day, per violation.” “We knew we had to help because these fines would quickly add up for anyone in Anne’s situation,” Polhemus explained. “We are called in life to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.” We wanted to assist her in her act of love.”

The full remodeling procedure took six days.

The volunteers purchased all of the necessary goods.

“One of our neighbors shored up the foundation and flooring, while others performed structural repairs to the side porch,” Polhemus explained. “We removed, scraped, primed, and painted the shutters, as well as scraped, primed, and painted the house’s exterior.” We assisted Anne in donating her automobile and completed landscaping to restore her yard to its former glory.”

All allegations against Anne were quickly withdrawn. This was confirmed by Polhemus’s wife and a local police officer for ABC.

“I can say with certainty that none of us wanted any recognition for this project,” the thoughtful neighbor continued. “We hope that everyone who reads this will look at their own neighborhoods with fresh eyes.” What has to be fixed? Who needs a partner or a friend? How can you assist? Your neighbors are just family members you don’t know well yet, and the relationship begins with you. I can’t promise it’ll be easy, but I can guarantee it’ll be worthwhile.”

Anne spoke to ABC News about the generosity she received and conveyed her thanks to everyone involved in the endeavor of repairing her home.

“I’m very grateful for their concern and assistance, and I tried to be as helpful as I could when the workers came,” she added. “I believe they have a generous spirit in reaching out to others, which is worth noting.” It’s something that should spread. “I hope to live happily in [my house].”
