Diane Delano, widely known for her part in The Northern Lights, has died. She was 67.

Dennis Sevier, Delano’s agent, confirmed to PEOPLE that she died at home in Los Angeles on Friday, December 13, following a brief illness. We have yet to reveal her official cause of death.

“Whenever Diane entered a room, you knew she was there! She was full of energy and enjoyed being an actor. Sevier expressed his loss for the late actress in a statement.

Delano rose to prominence as Officer Barbara Semanski on CBS’s Northern Exposure, which aired for six seasons between 1990 and 1995.

Her other major film and television performances were in The Wicker Man, Popular, Days of Our Lives, St. Elsewhere, L.A. Law, and Perfect Strangers.

She has also provided her voice to animated productions such as Teen Titans and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

The actress received an Indie Series Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the made-for-TV film Fumbling Through Pieces. In 2019, she received the Best Ensemble Prize at the Los Angeles Film Awards for her role in Relish.

Delano’s most recent part was in the bluegrass musical comedy Paradise: A Town of Sinners and Saints, which came out in May.
