Ozzy Osbourne’s sister has shared a tragic text message he sent before his death at the age of 76.
On Tuesday (July 22), Ozzy’s family revealed that he had died surrounded by affection at the age of 76.
Following Ozzy’s passing, his family released a statement.
It read: “It is with more regret than words can express that we must report that our dear Ozzy Osbourne died this morning. He was with his family, surrounded by affection.
“We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
Ozzy leaves behind his wife, Sharon, and their three children, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack. His children from his previous marriage to Thelma Riley, Jessica and Louis, as well as his grandchildren, survive him.

Now, Ozzy’s sister, Jean Powell, has spoken up about her brother and their last conversation.
Jean said to the Daily Mirror, “We saw him in Birmingham the other week when he and the rest of the band were given the freedom of the city.” It was terrible that he couldn’t stand straight, but he was still our John, making jokes.
“He was our brother, not a star, so it’s surreal to see the outpouring of affection after his death was publicized.
“We can’t believe he’s gone, and we won’t be receiving another phone call or text from him. Every week, he would call or text us to see how we were doing and what was going on.
Jean stated that they had last seen Ozzy, real name John Michael Osbourne, during the show Back to the Beginning.
“He was frail, but it still came as a shock,” Jean told me. “He still had ambitions and things he wanted to do. We don’t know the facts of his death since it’s still too early. It is simply awful.” I’m grateful he died in England. We had an executive box in the stadium, and when I saw the sea of people waiting to see our John, I just broke down.

“We didn’t have much time to talk because the visit was so busy. However, in his most recent text message to me, he stated that he will return to Birmingham. He stated, ‘I can’t wait to return.’ We hoped to see him this week.
The news comes after Osbourne’s family members, including Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis, announced the Black Sabbath star’s death on July 22.
Osbourne died mere weeks after his farewell appearance, when he rejoined with Black Sabbath for a show at the UK’s Villa Park.
During his performance in front of 42,000 fans, the singer expressed his deepest gratitude, saying, “You can’t comprehend the depth of my emotions—thank you from the depths of my heart.”
In January 2020, Osbourne stated he had Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative neurological ailment that largely impairs mobility.
