Tammy Slaton, a TLC celebrity, has spoken out about her physical transformation, revealing how she lost an incredible 500 pounds.
Since 2020, the reality TV star has been sharing her weight reduction struggle with her sister Amy on the show 1000-Lb. Sisters.
Tammy’s first goal was to drop 30 pounds, then it increased to 130 after she gained 100 pounds as a result of being locked indoors during the pandemic.
Tammy, who weighed 725 pounds at her heaviest, had to move with a walker and wheelchair and breathe via an oxygen tube.
The celebrity struggled to lose weight and went to treatment several times owing to her food addiction.

During her stay on the program, she has faced both personal and physical challenges, including the death of her husband, Caleb Willingham, who died at the age of 40 in 2023.
Nonetheless, she continued in her objective, and despite the ups and downs, she was able to shed more than 500 pounds—an astonishing accomplishment given that she had previously struggled to reduce weight with food and exercise alone.
This meant Tammy was finally cleared for bariatric surgery, which she had in July 2022.
The celebrity made her body transformation debut on season seven of the TLC show in August of last year.
“When I was at my heaviest, I weighed over 700 pounds,” she revealed on the episode. “Right now, my weight is 238. Everyone keeps telling me I appear smaller than Amy.
“That’s kind of hard to believe.”
Tammy recently spoke with the Ezell Film Company about reducing around 540 pounds from her greatest weight to present, describing how she has practically eliminated ‘three full versions of herself.’
She said on the show, “I see pictures of me now, and I think, ‘wow.'”

Tammy has just opened up to PEOPLE about her highly awaited skin removal surgery, confessing that she was really scared’ for the treatment, which she underwent in January this year, more than she was for her bariatric surgery in 2022.
“I was pretty apprehensive about the skin removal procedure because I was really just sort of terrified of how I’m going to feel looking at myself without the belly there,” she told me.”
“The night before my surgery, I was, like, seriously freaking terrified,” she told me. “I was even more nervous about having skin removal surgery than I was for the [sleeve gastrectomy] surgery because they’re actually cutting the whole belly!”
Tammy recovered quickly after physicians removed nearly 15 pounds of extra skin, and she was able to return home four days earlier.
In Pittsburgh, she was honored by her siblings as well as admirers on social media, who have expressed their ‘pride’ in Tammy for her honesty and perseverance.
