Pennsylvania man shoots himself after k*lling his wife and five children before Christmas…

Authorities have identified the victims in a tragic murder-suicide that occurred on Tuesday night in Altoona, Pennsylvania, leaving five children orphaned just days before Christmas.

Reports from The Altoona Mirror, Fox, and NBC’s WJAC state that 34-year-old Brooke Raia (formerly Zimmerman) and 39-year-old Blase Raia were discovered dead from apparent gunshot wounds in their Blair County home on Dartmouth Lane.

The Logan Township Police Chief, Dave Hoover, informed The Altoona Mirror that the incident appears to be related to domestic violence based on evidence found at the scene. According to Hoover, Blase is believed to have shot Brooke in the head with a handgun before taking his own life in the basement.

Authorities responded to a call around 7:30 p.m., and four children were reportedly present at the time of the incident, with the fifth child discovering the scene upon returning home and subsequently contacting authorities.

Chief Hoover mentioned that Blair County Children, Youth and Family Services have placed the children with family members.

As the investigation is ongoing, no further details have been provided at this time. A GoFundMe has been established to support the five children.
