Ben Affleck’s ex-wives, Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner, are still on good terms, according to a source.

Lopez, 55, whose divorce from Affleck, her two-year marriage, was finalized in January, and Garner, 52, are “friends” who keep in touch, according to the source.

Garner was married to Affleck, 52, from 2005 until 2015; the couple has three children: Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13. Meanwhile, Lopez has twins Max and Emme, who turned 17 in February, with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Lopez and Affleck started dating in 2002 and were engaged, but they parted in 2004. They reconnected in 2021.

“We are always putting women against women. “In this case, it’s simply not true,” the insider says about Lopez and Garner’s connection.

A third source recently told PEOPLE that Affleck and Garner “have been on good terms for a while now and seem to enjoy chatting and hanging out” with their children.

The former couple was famously seen laughing at Samuel’s 13th birthday celebration on March 2, and according to the insider, Affleck has been “extra giddy lately, though, and much more affectionate” while spending time with Garner.

According to court records acquired by PEOPLE at the time, Affleck and Lopez finalized their divorce on January 6 and were officially separated on February 21. Both have been busy with work; Lopez presented her next film, Kiss of the Spider Woman, at the Sundance Film Festival in January, and Affleck recently debuted his new picture, The Accountant 2, at SXSW on March 8.

According to the first source, Lopez is “not bothered” by recent images of Garner and Affleck hugging at Samuel’s birthday celebration.

“People are reading into it in a way to create drama where there is none,” a source has said.
