Ah, the age-old controversy over the right method to shower.

And who should be brought into the fray? Of course, it’s ‘Underneath the Tree’ singer Kelly Clarkson.

Prepare to grab your shower heads and prepare for battle.

Earlier this week, on the December 6 broadcast of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host sat down with Kenan Thompson and addressed the shower advice’ in his book.

In a YouTube clip from the program, Thompson remarks that we frequently discuss ‘brushing your teeth in the shower,’ and Clarkson swiftly responds, “Here’s the thing: I don’t regularly brush my teeth in the shower; I just do it if I’m in a hurry.”

“Now, I am frequently in a rush. […] That is where I am. That is my preference.”

Thompson answers by saying it’s ‘disgusting’ to wash your teeth while bathing, and he doesn’t stop there.

“I don’t do it,” he says. And I believe there was another mention of washing your legs in the shower, like getting all the way there. Don’t simply leave your ankles out there.”

“But wait, when you’re washing up here, it does wash down,” Clarkson claims.

The singer also mentions that she pees “almost every time” she takes a shower, and Thompson just answers, “Awesome,” although it makes him feel “ashamed,” as contrasted to Clarkson, who feels “productive.”

Unfortunately, not everyone is as ready to overlook some of Clarkson’s bathing habits.

One X user, formerly known as Twitter, said, “Way too much information.”

“Yuk, pee in the shower,” said another.

A third person said, “Both are gross.”

Others, however, have defended Clarkson, racing to the video’s comments section to defend her shower skills.

“Oh, Kelly, you unfiltered queen,” one person said. I just adore her. ‘I feel productive,’ she says. “She and I are identical.”

“The peeing in the shower thing…I actually feel the same way,” a second said. I try not to do it too often, but when I do, I aim for the drain from a safe distance.”

Finally, “OMG, Kelly is just so unfiltered; I love it.” For me, she is the most relatable talk show presenter out there.”
