Pilot dies during gender reveal party in front of guests

A pilot crashed a tiny plane and died after dumping pink-dyed water during a gender reveal celebration.

On Sunday, September 3, a video of an expectant mother and father standing in front of a light-up ‘Oh, Baby’ sign in San Pedro, Mexico, was shared on X (previously Twitter).

As the couple awaited the gender reveal of their newborn child, friends and family were all around them.

At the start of the video, the mother and father-to-be can be seen holding hands as they wait for the white plane to fly over them.

The jet eventually came rocketing over the top of the newlyweds before releasing a flood of pink water, confirming the couple was expecting a girl, and was piloted by pilot Luis Ngel.

A cannon spouting pink confetti was also fired nearby at the same moment as the pink rain.

With all eyes on the happy marriage, many of the guests missed the Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee aircraft rapidly spiraling out of control.

Despite losing control of the jet, the pilot attempted to fly it over a line of palm trees, but the plane eventually went into a spiral.

Ngel, 32, finally crashed the jet while attempting to guide it to safety, according to Mexican news site Lnea Directa Portal.

After a worried visitor alerted emergency services to the scene, a volunteer and Red Cross paramedics allegedly found the 32-year-old lying in the wreckage.

According to the Aviation Safety Network, the ‘left-hand wing broke following an emergency hopper discharge of (pink-colored) water during a gender reveal celebration’.

According to reports, despite being carried to the Mexican Social Security Institute in Navolato, the pilot was subsequently proclaimed dead.

The video of the terrible occurrence has already gone viral on social media.

One X user blasted the event, saying, “These reveals are out of control.”

“There’s no reason to blame the couple,” said another. This might have occurred in any location. It’s remarkable that the plane lost one of its wings. He didn’t appear to have pulled up aggressively. It’s a pity.”

“The strangest part for me is that the person who took the video just kept filming the couple celebrating rather than running to help the pilot. “I guess most people didn’t even notice,” said another.
