Princess Eugenie receives a second son and explains the significance of his name

“Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, on May 30, 2023, at 8.49 lbs.,” Eugenie, 33, posted on Instagram.

She posted a photo of the infant sporting a blue-and-white crocheted hat and one of her oldest sons, 2-year-old Augie, kissing his baby brother on the head.

“Augie is loving being a big brother already,” she added.

The baby’s name pays tribute to Brooksbank’s late father and Eugenie’s late grandpa. “He is named after his great-great-great-grandfather George, his grandpa George, and my grandpa Ronald,” Eugenie said in her post.

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was Ronald’s father. He passed away in 2003, at the age of 71. George Brooksbank, Jack’s father, died in 2021, only days before Augie was born, at the age of 72.

After his older brother, Ernest is the 13th in line to the throne.

Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, met her now-husband Jack Brooksbank in 2010 while skiing in Switzerland, and they married in 2018 at Windsor Castle. August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, or Augie for short, was born in February 2021.

The pair, along with Prince Harry, attended King Charles III’s coronation in May.
