Sally Field, a celebrated actress who has earned Academy, Emmy, and Golden Globe Awards, is renowned for her roles in films such as “Forrest Gump,” “Brothers and Sisters,” “Lincoln,” and “Steel Magnolias.”
The 76-year-old actress commenced her career in 1965 with the leading role in “Gidget.” Since then, she has made numerous appearances on television, in movies, and on Broadway.

Field has been candid about her personal struggles, addressing issues such as her stepfather’s sexual abuse, as well as battles with depression, self-doubt, and loneliness in her 2018 memoir, “In Pieces.”

Born on November 6, 1946, in Pasadena, California, Sally Field is the daughter of actress Margaret Field (née Morlan) and salesman Richard Dryden Field. Following her parents’ divorce, her mother married actor and stuntman Jock Mahoney. Sally’s brother, Richard Field, and half-sister, Princess O’Mahoney, are both alive.

In 1968, Field married Steven Craig, with whom she had two sons, Peter and Eli. They divorced in 1975, and she later married Alan Greisman in 1984. They had one son together, Samuel, before divorcing in 1994. Field dated Burt Reynolds from 1976 to 1980, a challenging relationship detailed in her memoir, citing Reynolds’ controlling behavior and his influence on her decision not to attend the Emmy ceremony where she won for “Sybil.”

Notably, Reynolds passed away just before the release of her memoir, expressing regret over their failed relationship in his own 2015 memoir, “But Enough About Me.” Field revealed they hadn’t spoken for 30 years before his death, emphasizing that he was not someone she could be around.

Presently, Sally Field keeps her Oscars and Emmys in a TV room where she enjoys playing video games with her grandkids. Far from retirement, her film “Spoiler Alert” is set to release next week, with “80 for Brady” scheduled for 2023.

Steven Spielberg, her friend and director of “Lincoln,” praises Field for breaking through industry barriers with her talent and persistence. Over her six-decade career, Field has won the hearts of viewers, built a meaningful life for herself and her family, embraced the natural aging process, and found joy in being a grandmother.
