A college student went viral on TikTok after posting footage of her family coming 600 miles to surprise her after she texted her mom that she was “feeling anxious.”
Breanna Lambert texted her mom just before 3 p.m. to see if she was available.
“Can you call me when you’re free, please?” she said, to which her mother replied, “Yes.” Is everything okay?
“Yeah, I’m just feeling anxious and wanted to chat,” Lambert said.
Just over an hour later, her parents surprised her while she was working out at the gym, and they caught the emotional event on tape.
Lambert, a full-time student at Kansas State University, documented the scene on TikTok, stating that her parents drove 600 miles from their home in southern Wisconsin to see her in Manhattan, Kansas. (About the time-traveling journey, Lambert tells PEOPLE that her parents were already on their way to her when she sent the text; she attributes it to “mother’s intuition.”)
While working out on a treadmill, Lambert turns around in shock to find her parents approaching her. She then bursts into tears and hugs them.

“I have an awesome relationship with my parents,” Lambert tells PEOPLE. “My mom is truly one of my best friends, and our relationship has only gotten stronger over my years away at college.”
She keeps going: “I am very close with my dad as well; he is just a very busy guy, the silent servant, if you will.”
She claims she was not shocked that her parents drove 600 miles to surprise her on a tough day.
“My parents have set that standard in the past,” she informs me. “It didn’t surprise me that they went all that distance to offer me a hug. The way they have consistently shown up for me and my siblings has been a godsend.”
Lambert says that she knows that “not everyone receives this kind of parental love” and hopes that her film will inspire future parents to always be there for their children. I feel so much comfort and security in knowing that they are always there for me.”
So far, the video is accomplishing just that, with commentators weighing in.
“Something small like this can save your child’s life,” one person wrote.
Another person added, “This is the type of parent I want to be for my children.”
