“The AFA crew worked on this flight. According to reports, there are no deaths. Please refrain from speculating on this situation while everyone tries to obtain facts and assist those impacted.”
According to the New York Post, flight records suggest that the aircraft was a Mitsubishi CRJ-900LR.
“There’s a plane disaster. However, we don’t know the facts at this time,” said Constable Sarah Patten of Peel Regional Police in Ontario.
“It is my understanding that most of the passengers are out and unharmed, but we’re still trying to make sure, so we’re still on scene investigating,” Ms. Patten explained.
This is the first serious incident involving a commercial passenger airliner since an American Airlines passenger flight collided with a US Army helicopter and crashed into the Potomac River on January 29.
The Bombardier CRJ700 had taken off from Wichita, Kansas, and was arriving at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, DC.
The jet crashed with a Sikorsky H-60 that had taken off from Fort Belvoir in Virginia, according to video footage. A US Army spokesman confirmed to NBC News that the helicopter was on a training trip.

The plane had 64 people, while the chopper carried three Army personnel. Nobody survived.
President Donald Trump stated that the crash “looks like it should have been prevented.”
He said on the social networking platform Truth Social, “The plane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport.”
“For a lengthy amount of time, the helicopter flew directly at the plane. It was a CLEAR NIGHT, and the plane’s lights were blazing; why didn’t the helicopter go up, down, or turn?
“Why didn’t the control tower give the helicopter instructions instead of asking if they observed the plane? This is a tragic incident that appears to have been preventable. “Not good!!!”
