Just because someone is older doesn’t mean they’ve lost their talent; quite the opposite, as Jenny Darren demonstrated on Britain’s Got Talent with her unique audition. While her song choice took people by surprise, the audience thoroughly enjoyed her performance and her vibrant personality.
At 68 years old, Jenny has been singing since she was twelve, accumulating almost fifty years of experience in the music industry. Her background includes singing backup vocals for AC/DC and releasing four albums of her own, one of which featured drummer Nicko McBrian, who later joined Iron Maiden.
After retiring, Jenny decided to return to her passion for music. Despite having explored classical and jazz music for a while, she felt it was time to reconnect with her rock and roll roots.

Walking onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage in a bun, a long dress, and a button-up cardigan, Jenny initially appeared like the stereotypical retired grandmother. However, as she began her audition, she surprised everyone by unbuttoning her cardigan and revealing a completely different outfit underneath – a black leather skirt, boots, and a black t-shirt.
As AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” started playing, Jenny confidently strutted back to center stage, belting out the song with power and finesse. Her boldness and strong vocals captivated the audience, leading Judge David Walliams to even join her in dancing. The crowd and judges enthusiastically sang along, and Jenny ended the performance on a high note.
Jenny received a standing ovation from both the audience and all four judges for her electrifying performance. She absolutely nailed it! You’ve got to see her in action.
