Target’s social media platforms were advertising in-store specials such as 30% off clothes and 25% off various beauty and healthcare sets, but the deals may not be as good as they appear.
TikToker user @djdowneygirl uploaded a video on the site yesterday (November 25), and it has already received 25 million views.
The woman is seen in the video exploring her local Target when she notices several TVs on sale as part of Black Friday.
When she looks at the sign, however, she takes out the prior sale sign from before Black Friday, and it’s the same price.
“I’m confused,” she tells the camera.

Another video shows someone shopping for apparel during the Black Friday sale and discovering that the label beneath the top one was really $5 cheaper.
@djdowneygirl subsequently stated in a follow-up video on her TikTok that she had gone to the supermarket ‘for some goodies’ and was left wondering whether that was the fact after seeing similar recordings.
People have subsequently expressed their opinions on the topic, and it’s safe to say they’re not thrilled.
“Wow, that’s not a deal,” one TikTok user said.
Another alleged that ‘they haven’t done any genuine deals in years’.
Someone else said, “I found one where the regular price was lower than the Black Friday deal.”
Former store workers attempted to explain a probable cause elsewhere.

“It makes it easier the next day,” one individual commented.
“I worked on a target,” commented another commenter. I was sluggish. “I hope this is useful.”
“I presently work in retail, and we are required to keep the original tags.” There is a list to take the tags off when the sale is over,” a third remarked.
Another individual stated, “We didn’t take down the original price sign because it’s just easier to put back up after Black Friday.”
However, several were quick to point out that the tag below @djdowneygirl’s video still suggested that it was for sale.
“That’s the price that lasts past Black Friday.” “The front tag is only for Black Friday, which is why it’s black,” someone wrote.
