Dana Carvey is well-known for his work on Saturday Night Live, and his 32-year-old son, Dex Carvey, died on Thursday. On X (formerly known as Twitter), he posted about his son’s death and conveyed his sympathy to everyone who has lost a loved one to addiction.
“Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy,” wrote the comedian. Dex, our sweet son, died from an inadvertent drug overdose. He was 32 years old at the time.” Dana and his wife, Paula Zwagerman, made a statement together. The couple said that he died as a consequence of an unintended overdose.

“Dex crammed a lot into 32 years. He was extremely talented in so many areas—music, art, filmmaking, comedy—and pursued them all with zeal,” they wrote. remarked, “It’s not an exaggeration to say that Dex loved life.”
According to records, Dex died in his home in Los Angeles, and the case is still being investigated.
Dana and Paula married in 1983, when their eldest child, Dex, was 32. The couple’s 30-year-old son, Thomas Carvey, is their second child.

They continued by saying that Dex “made everything fun” and that “when you were with him, you loved life too.”
They said, “He loved his family, his friends, and his girlfriend, Kaylee,” adding that “Dex was a beautiful person.” His homemade birthday cards are invaluable. “We won’t ever forget him.”
Dex was a comic as well as an actor. He even opened a gig for his father during his father’s tour in 2018.
