James Givens is a police sergeant in the Cincinnati Police Department. He has been with the department for over 26 years, making him a veteran of the force.
On the other hand, he has never come across a distress call that is an identical match for this one before.
When Givens was doing nothing more than sitting in his patrol car in a neighboring parking area, an animal began tapping on the glass to gain his attention.
Givens’s attention was drawn to the animal by the sound of the tapping.

It came as something of a surprise to see his response when he found out it was a goose. Givens was greeted by the goose with wide eyes and an alert expression on its face.
It looked like it was attempting to get the officer’s attention in some way.
Givens reported that “it continued pecking and pecking,” despite the fact that birds often avoid getting too close to people.
Givens could tell that this was an unusual situation, but because he wasn’t on call, he didn’t flinch when the angry goose walked away from him and then halted to stare back at him as if asking him to follow it.
This was because Givens knew that this was an unusual case.
Almost as soon as he hopped out of his car, he started chasing the goose in the direction of the water banks where it had taken refuge.
He went into detail about what had occurred, stating:
“It had begun to move away from me, but it had stopped and glanced back, so I had continued walking after it.”

Givens pursued the geese and eventually uncovered something that provided an explanation for their prior interaction.
“That took me straight to a gosling that was caught up in all of that string,” the speaker says.
As she had turned around and looked at Given, in actuality, she was begging with him to come with her by asking him to accompany her. There was more going on than just what was going on in his thoughts at the time.
The baby gosling became entangled in the string that was linked to the balloon, and it was impossible for it to release itself.

Goslings were able to move their little feet and wings, but this was not enough for them to be able to get away from their captors and become free.
Despite the fact that Givens wanted to assist the goose and her gosling, he was scared that the goose may attack him if he came too close to the gosling.
After all, they are notorious for their possessive and guarding tendencies toward their territory. He came to the conclusion that he should seek assistance from the SPCA Animal Rescue.
Because to the fact that they were too preoccupied with their other responsibilities, the employees of the ASPCA were unable to get to the location and assist in the rescue efforts.
Givens then made the choice to make contact with one of his coworkers, Cecilia Charon, who was more than happy to assist in the rescue of the gosling. Cecilia Charon was able to find the gosling.
She does not usually take part in rescue operations like this one, but she decided that it would be best to provide her assistance in light of the fact that the SPCA has stated in the past that they are experiencing an overwhelming number of situations.
After Cecilia had arrived, Sergeant Givens took out his camera and started documenting the rescue effort. He continued filming after Cecilia had arrived.

After that, Givens shared the video he had taken of the gosling being released online, where it soon gained a significant amount of attention and was accompanied with his account of the mother goose.
To this time, the film has been viewed by more than 7.5 million people all around the world.
