Because Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are both well-known celebrities in their own right, it is simple to overlook the fact that they have been married for the better part of three decades.

Kyra had just turned 12 years old when she had her first acquaintance with Kevin, who was seven years her senior.

Her brother had taken her to see a movie in which Kevin Bacon was starring, and after the screening, he’d set up a meeting between the two of them.

After ten years had passed, they finally stumbled into one other again when they were both working on the set of Lemon Sky at the same time.

It turned out that Kyra’s feelings for Bacon were more platonic than amorous.

The couple got married in a small, intimate ceremony in Connecticut, and the celebration was hosted in the Manhattan club Au Bar for a total of three hundred of their friends and family members.

After Kevin and Kyra became engaged on the evening of Christmas Eve in 1987, they chose to invite only very close friends and family members to the celebration that they would later host.

Not too much time passed between the wedding and the arrival of Travis Sedwick Bacon in the world. 1992 saw the birth of the couple’s second child, a daughter whom they named Sosie Ruth.

In the Netflix adolescent drama “13 Reasons Why,” Sosie plays the role of Skye Miller, who has followed in her parents’ footsteps by becoming an actress.

Travis, a solo artist, composed the score for the film “Story of a Girl,” which was produced by his parents and for which he also composed the score.

Now, 34 years after they first tied the knot, the happy couple is finally getting around to celebrating their wedding anniversary.

The longevity of the Bacon couple’s marriage is seen as something of a miracle in the entertainment industry of Hollywood.

During an interview with Redbook that took place in 2008, Kyra stated the following:

“If someone had told me that at 22 I would meet the guy I would marry and that at 23 I would marry him and have a kid, I would have told them that they were out of their mind.”

Because Bacon never misses a chance to celebrate his and his famous wife’s wedding anniversary, it is clear that the two of them are still very much in love with one another.

On their respective Instagram profiles, Kevin and Kyra have both expressed a great deal of love for one another.

Sosie played Skye Miller in the Netflix adolescent drama “13 Reasons Why,” following in the footsteps of both of her parents, who both had acting careers.

In addition to his career as a solo musician, Travis composed the score for the film “Story of a Girl,” which was directed by his mother and father.

Nonetheless, the course of their love story has not been without of obstacles.

“When I reached what I believed to be the lowest point in my life, I met the woman who would become my wife, our children were born, and other positive things were happening.”

“I was able to continue supporting myself; it has always been something that has given me strength,” Bacon remarked to the reporters. “And I was able to continue supporting myself.”

The pair did admit that life hasn’t been simple for them at all times, and they talked about the time in 2008 when Bernie Madoff stole their life savings by pulling off what is widely regarded as the most successful Ponzi scheme in the annals of world history.

In spite of the fact that some other sites claim Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick lost a total of $100 million, Celebrity Net Worth says that the couple lost “just” $30-$40 million.

But despite the fact that they had both lost their jobs, they were able to maintain their composure because, despite the fact that they had lost millions of dollars, they had not lost everything.

Bacon told The Guardian that “it was a bad day,” and he continued by saying: “But fairly soon we were able to recognize all the things we had as opposed to whatever we lost, and those are the greatest cliches: children, health, love, and a nice home.”

Bacon was referring to the fact that they were able to recognize all the things they had rather than whatever they had lost. Hence, we have all emerged victorious.

To tell you the truth, I don’t really give any thought to Madoff at all.

Kyra discovered that she and Bacon are ninth cousins once removed after appearing on the American television program “Finding Your Origins.”

It is possible that the results of a DNA test would give you an uneasy sensation because they showed that the actor and actress were distant relatives; Kevin was not too delighted with the news.

Kyra revealed that although she was aware of it, the fact that it made her feel “a little strange” was something that she acknowledged.

But, she did mention that she didn’t mind as long as their relationship wasn’t that of first cousins.

PBS did some research into Kevin’s family history and discovered that King Edward I, who was Kevin’s 22nd great grandpa, was one of the people who battled William Wallace.

Kevin joked that his family history didn’t get enough attention, and he also discussed the fact that he and his wife were cousins. Both of these topics were brought up in conversation.

“I had the impression that they were making fun of me,” he stated later on. Nevertheless Kevin and Kyra continued their relationship despite the fact that this was a stunning discovery.

Their love has deepened and matured with the passing of each year.

They have been able to spend even more time together thanks to the quarantine that has been imposed on their home in Los Angeles.

Kyra shared with People that she dabbles in writing despite the fact that she has no idea whether or not she is any good at the activity.

Kyra further mentions that no matter where they are, her husband manages to make her feel like a celebrity at all times.

Kyra expressed her thoughts on the matter to People by saying, “I don’t know how he does it, but he always makes me feel like I’m the most beautiful lady in the room — the only women in the room.”

In addition to that, she lauds their incredible chemistry in the bedroom.

In an interview that took place in 2015 with Entertainment Weekly, Bacon provided the following piece of guidance regarding the best way to keep a marriage together:

“Whatever you do, don’t take celebrity marriage advice.”

In 2012, Sedgwick spoke with Good Housekeeping what she adores most about her devoted spouse. The interview was published.

He is a man of such honesty. He does not have a single ethical flaw. She went on to say that “he doesn’t cheat or lie, and he has strong moral convictions, all of which I find sexy.”
