On Friday (September 8), the Rocky star, 77, was pictured with Pope Francis, 86, as the leader of the Catholic Church proclaimed his love for Stallone’s flicks.
This was quickly followed by a ‘one-two’ of fists as the bishop of Rome delivered a pair of fake punches at the actor.

A video posted by Vatican News shows a delighted Stallone shaking hands with a similarly delighted Pope Francis.
“Well, thank you very much for taking time from your busy day,” Stallone remarked as he met the Pope with his wife, Jennifer Flavin, children Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet Stallone, and his brother Frank Stallone.
“We greatly appreciate it.”
“I am honored,” said the Pope.
“Well, I’m honored, too,” Stallone responded, a little surprised.
“We grew up with your films,” the Pope remarked through a translator, prompting the Balboa star to answer, “Ready?” We box.”

Clearly kidding, the Pope fired back with a couple of playful air jabs as the duo enjoyed themselves.
The group snapped a photo together after their brief conversation.
On social media, one individual described the encounter as “awesome,” while another said it was “lovely to watch.”
“This made me smile just now,” wrote a third.
Another said, “My idol met my Catholic grandmother’s idol.”
“The Pope and Sylvester Stallone’s family. This discussion has a very uplifting quality to it. “Take note of the rosaries in one of his daughters’ hands,” someone else said.

Stallone is still going strong at over 80 years old and will appear in the forthcoming The Expendables 4.
“Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table,” the film’s synopsis says.
“However, new team members with new styles and tactics will give the phrase ‘new blood’ a whole new meaning.”
Along with Stallone, the cast will include Jason Statham, Megan Fox, Dolph Lundgren, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Randy Couture, and 50 Cent, who was not pleased with how he appeared on the movie poster.
The 48-year-old took to Instagram and posted an image of the ad with the message, “WTF did we run out of money? Why does my head appear to be disconnected from my body?
“I’m sure they’ll make @officialslystallone look great. Branson Cognac #Lecheminduroi SMH.”
The Expendables 4 will be released in theaters on September 22nd.
