The singer makes it clear that she is ‘not making music for white folks’

During her open discussion with Vanity Fair, Lizzo flatly disputed that she creates music for a “white audience.” Instead, the 34-year-old musician writes songs that reflect her black experience. Lizzo’s music combines elements of hip-hop, gospel, and R&B. She has also released popular anthems such as Good as Hell and About Damn Time, which have soared to the top of the pop charts.

Lizzo is concerned about the chart-topping songs since they were intended for a black audience but are extremely successful with whites. This is what “disturbs her the most.”Singer Makes It Clear She’s “Not Making Music For White People”
“This is probably the biggest criticism I’ve received, and it is such a critical conversation regarding black artists,” the performer remarked. “When black individuals see a large number of white people in the crowd, they often say, ‘This isn’t for me.'” This is for them. The point is, when a black musician achieves a certain degree of success, the audience will be mostly white.”

The clever singer and businesswoman said, “I don’t make songs for white people. I am a black lady.” I am making music based on my black experience.”

Melissa Jefferson is the birth name of Lizzo. She states she makes music “for me to heal myself (from) the experience we call life.”

The Detroit singer is aware that she is making a significant contribution to the lives of young Black people. She wants greater love and self-love, saying, “We need self-love and self-love anthems more than anybody.”

“So am I making music for that girl right there who looks like me, who grew up in a city where she was underappreciated, picked on, and made to feel unbeautiful?” she asked, before responding, “Yes.”

Lizzo also had some strong words for those who are attempting to brand her as a racist.

“It blows my mind when people say I’m not making music from a black perspective—how could I not do that as a black artist?”

Meanwhile, Kanye West, 45, discussed Lizzo’s weight on Fox News with Tucker Carlson. Kanye West stated, “When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots—a term for telemarketing calls on Instagram—criticize her for losing weight because the media wants to create the impression that being overweight is the new objective when it is truly harmful.”

“Let us set aside the question of whether it is fashion or fad, which it is not. Alternatively, if someone finds her appealing, they are free to make that choice. It is clinically unhealthy, and promoting it is demonic.”

Carlson pressed West to explain why he believed this was happening to members of the Black race. West had a response in his back pocket.

“It’s genocide against the black race. They intend to murder us in whatever way they can.
