A US Air Force veteran posted a video on Facebook Live reporting a strange encounter with an unnamed neighbor.
Justin Schroeder, 36, arrived home from running errands to find a letter on his front door. “Man, I don’t even know where to start,” he stated during the Facebook Live broadcast. “I’ve encountered some foolish individuals in my life, yet this surpasses them all.”
Schroeder panned his camera to the American flag in front of his residence.
“Judging by the trucks in your driveway, I can only assume you voted for Trump,” he wrote, before showing viewers the vehicles parked in the area.
Schroeder read, “This is a horrible house, and Bozeman deserves better,” and then swiftly responded, “You’re right, it does.” Pack your stuff and leave.”
The letter continued: “If it is not taken down by evening, I will do it personally. This isn’t the fight you desire. We’ll win. Sincerely, your neighbor.
Schroeder crumpled the note and flung it on the ground. He immediately said, “I’ve met some foolish individuals in my life, but I can tell you right now, that flag over there isn’t going to come down.” That flag isn’t coming down.”
He came out onto the street and told viewers that he had just noticed he was the only person on his block with an American flag flying outside his house.
He said, “I just don’t get it.” “This flag represents freedom.”
“This flag flies year-round at my house,” he informed me. “It will never come down.”
He went on to say, “And who believes they’re going to try to pull it down? “I will break your f-king fingers.”
Speaking with Blue Lives Matter, Schroeder expressed, “It’s been unreal the amount of support I’ve gotten from people.” He also shared that a stranger drove to his house and offered him a replacement flag, in case his neighbor stole the old one.
Several individuals volunteered to camp outside Schroeder’s house to defend him and the flag, while others pushed him to report the incident to authorities.
He said, “There is no cause to bother the cops. They have larger issues to cope with.”
He admits to receiving a number of death threats and nasty remarks, saying, “It does not phase me. Someone was triggered… If I were that guy, I’d be hiding under a rock right now,” he said dismissively.
He told Blue Lives Matter: “The remedy is rather easy. I simply raised the flag ten feet higher. Someone is going to notice a person coming down the street with a ladder.
He also installed covert surveillance cameras, but so far there has been no record of suspicious activity.
“Feel free to express yourself, but this goes too far. For me, the American flag is a sign of love. “And I love my country,” Schroeder stated.
