The woman was astonished when her pizza was brought by the cops instead of her driver

Have you ever been waiting for an Uber driver or a food delivery and had major doubts about where the driver was going or why they were taking so long at a light as you tracked their movement on the map? Brandy Parrish of Arizona had some major worries on July 4th after her Grubhub driver paused for an unusually long period as she was excitedly expecting her dinner.

“He was making really good time, then, all of a sudden, he stops, a block away from our apartment,” Parrish reported to Fox 10 News. Parrish saw the car driving in the incorrect way on the Grubhub map 15 minutes after it came to a halt. Tempe Police had detained Parrish’s driver for reckless driving and high speed, something she was unaware of. It appears that the driver went out of his way to bring the pizza hot and on time.

Fortunately for Parrish, the cops determined that, even though the driver was on his way to jail, the pizza still needed to be delivered. Consider how to safely serve heated pizza. “A stuffed crust pepperoni pizza with some wacky puffs. “Very important,” Parrish told Fox 10 News.

Bodycam footage captured the moment Parrish was astonished to see cops at her door, carrying her pizza and crazy puffs.

“How are you doing?” an officer inquired.

“Good. She said, “How are you?”

“Really excellent. Brandy?” The officer holding the pizza requested to confirm that she was the legitimate owner.

“Yes,” she said.

“So your Grubhub guy got arrested, but we still delivered your pizza,” the officer explained.

The police thought that, despite the driver’s numerous traffic infractions, he deserved to complete his delivery task and that the pizza and Crazy Puffs should be hot when they arrived. After all, as Parrish noted on the map, the driver was apprehended directly outside her residence. “It was about two minutes from where the vehicle had stopped.” Officer Gavin Young told Inside Edition, “We came to the conclusion that this individual should probably get their pizza.”

“When a delivery driver was arrested during a traffic stop, our officers made sure the pizza still got to the customer,” the police department posted on Facebook. “The order read Hot-N-Ready, and the suspect was Caught-N-Steady. We are devoted to servicing our community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, whether it is for safety or pizza delivery!”

Unfortunately for the detained Grubhub driver, he is unlikely to make many deliveries after he is released from jail. If you receive a serious driving offense, such as reckless driving or driving under the influence, while driving for Grubhub, your account may be canceled.

Overall, it’s good that the police did the right thing in the heat of the moment by arriving with the pizza and Crazy Puffs for the delivery driver and his customer. The only thing we don’t know is whether Parrish tipped the cops or left a generous gratuity on the Grubhub app, as the driver could certainly need a few bucks to cover his bond.
