It may be tough to watch auditions on Britain’s Got Talent for various reasons, ranging from frightening to cringeworthy. Here’s one that is both nerve-racking and interesting because of the man’s skill.

Alex Magala’s talent for his audition was, of all things, sword swallowing. If you’ve ever studied it, you’ll know that the secret is to keep your throat open and in a straight line, like Alex did.

But then he begins doing things like bending over and pole dancing, which appear to contradict the “keep it in a straight line” component of the trick. Everyone wonders how he can avoid being wounded.

Before beginning, Simon asks Alex, “Is it going to be dangerous?” And he responds, “Yes,” stating that he is essentially risking his life on stage. The amusing nightmare starts.
