Linda Kozlowski was born on January 7, 1958, in Fairfield, Connecticut. She was raised in Fairfield by her parents, Stanley and Helen Kozlowski, and graduated from Andrew Warde High School in 1976.

Kozlowski had a strong desire to perform from an early age. She opted to pursue a career in business and got admitted to the famous Juilliard School’s acting section. She graduated in 1981 and thereafter moved to New York.

To begin her acting career, Kozlowski appeared in various off-Broadway musicals, including How It All Began. She went on to have lesser roles on Broadway and in television, notably the television drama Death of a Salesman, in which she costarred with Dustin Hoffman.

However, as many performers will likely agree, relocating to New York was not simple. She worked as a waitress when Death of a Salesman ended, and Kozlowski chose to depart for California.

Meanwhile, she and Dustin Hoffman had become close friends, and he became something of a mentor to her.

“It was very cold in New York,” she told People. “And I didn’t see any other work in sight, and I was sort of miserable.”

Hoffman and his wife wanted to help Linda. They invited her to stay at their Malibu beach house, and just six weeks after moving to the west coast, she auditioned for Crocodile Dundee.

Dustin Hoffman recommended her for the role because he was impressed with her performance in Death of a Salesman.

“There was a feeling in that room that was so positive,” she said of her audition. “I never once thought, ‘Oh, my God, this might not work.’

“Dustin questioned me, ‘Who are these people? “What are their names, and where are they staying?” she recalled. “I told him. So, just as they were phoning to tell me I had the part, they received a phone call from Dustin Hoffman. At first, they assumed it was a friend performing a terrible imitation.

“When they discovered it was Hoffman, they simply beamed. It was an indication that they had made the correct decision.

According to Kozlowski’s longtime friend William DeAcutis, “Dustin’s call was like the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, but Linda got the movie because they liked her.”

Kozlowski co-starred with Paul Hogan in the first Crocodile Dundee film in 1986. It became one of the most successful pictures of the year, grossing a whopping $320 million. Given that it only cost approximately $10 million to create, it was excellent business, in addition to the fans’ enjoyment of it.

When Linda first arrived at the Crocodile Dundee set in Australia, she was shocked.

“It was 4 a.m., extremely cold, and kangaroos and wild buffalo were wandering about. “I was in a daze,” she explained.

Linda Kozlowski rose to fame overnight. But the strange thing was that for a brief time, she was a tremendous star in Australia but almost unknown in the United States.

“It was a bit like being Cinderella,” Kozlowski told the Los Angeles Times. “In Australia, I’d be riding about in limos, whereas here I was still running around in my old Toyota trying to see casting directors.”

Linda quickly progressed from struggling actor to star. However, she always felt that she didn’t get enough attention. Overall, the focus was entirely on Dundee.

“But I’ll tell you where I was a big star,” she added, chuckling. “In Fairfield, Connecticut, where I grew up. My parents, Stanley and Helen Kozlowski, still reside there, and when the film premiered, they saw it several times.

“What’s funny is that the local paper never referred to me as ‘Linda,’ only as ‘Stanley’s daughter.'” It was ‘Stanley’s daughter says this…’ “And ‘Stanley’s daughter says that.’.”

She starred in the second Crocodile Dundee film two years later, and the third, Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, came out in 2001. At that point, Kozlowski had also found love. And it was with her co-star Paul Hogan, also known as the Crocodile Dundee.

The pair married in May 1990 in Australia. According to the Los Angeles Times, Hogan gave her a $2 million house as a wedding present.

Following her first two highly successful appearances in the Crocodile Dundee films, one might expect Linda Kozlowski to have had hundreds of bids for new projects. For her, however, this was not the case.

Sure, she had alternatives, but nothing seemed thrilling.

“After Crocodile Dundee, I turned down a lot of stuff, most of it where I’d play the girlfriend of some funny man,” Kozlowski explained, adding that she utilized the scripts for a completely different purpose.

“I use them for kindling, to get the fire started,” she told me.

“That’s really all they’re good for. I was feeling quite despondent, but then something nice came along—’Pass the Ammo. That’s been a long time coming, but there’s finally a release date.”

Linda Kozlowski starred in the third Crocodile Dundee film, released in 2001. However, she has not appeared in any further productions since.

Before the third film, she chose to leave the entertainment industry. She and Paul Hogan had their first and only child, Change Hogan, in 1998, and she wanted to devote her time to raising her son.

Linda and Paul ended their 23-year marriage in 2014. In October 2013, the couple filed for divorce, alleging “irreconcilable differences.”

Linda told New Idea that she now wanted to be the one in the spotlight. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Linda got a one-time payment of $6.25 million. At the same time, Hogan retained ownership of both the Crocodile Dundee persona and the film studio that produced the flicks.

Furthermore, they allowed Kozlowski to stay in their Los Angeles home for four years, or until she remarried, whichever came first.

“I lived in Paul’s shadow for many, many years, and it’s nice to feel my own light right now,” she told New Idea, adding that the main issue between the two was a lack of similar interests.

“Honestly, we simply organically drifted away. One of our concerns was that we had nothing in common, which occurs to many individuals over time.

Paul Hogan agreed but added that, despite their disagreements, they managed to make things work.

“We were complete opposites and had been attracted to one another for a long time. “Opposites in everything,” Hogan stated. “From the food we ate, the music we liked, the entertainment we liked, the colors, the clothes, the places, everything— it worked anyway.”

The couple still shares custody of their son, Change. Even after the divorce, they remain close friends.

“The divorce was totally amicable.” We chat on the phone all the time, and I go over to have coffee,” she explained. “We are absolutely friendly. “Everybody is happy.”

Linda fled the spotlight and moved to Morocco, where she found love once more. Moulay Hafid Baba, a local tour guide, guided her across Morocco. Speaking with Luxe Beat, Kozlowski stated that their attraction was instant.

They co-founded Dream My Destiny, a luxury travel company located in Marrakesh that plans bespoke itineraries based on the preferences of their visitors.

Linda Kozlowski shared with me that realizing we had known each other for a millennium was a profound moment in our lives. “As business partners, we organize all of our visitors’ travels together.

“He will take after the males while the ladies go shoe shopping! He is well-versed in the country, including the Sahara Desert. You feel comfortable with him no matter where you are.

It’s easy to say that Linda remains a very beautiful woman!

Linda hasn’t featured onscreen in a long time. She will always be known as the beautiful Sue from Crocodile Dundee, and her legacy will last forever.

No intentions to return to acting.

Today, she is 63 years old. However, she has no intentions to return to the big screen.

“I don’t miss acting since my life is complete right now. Make-believe is inferior to reality.

“One thing I always hated about acting was that it got in the way of having an adventurous life,” she told me.

“You had to stay in LA and wait for a job. Now I’m overjoyed with my independence. I believe acting helped strengthen my intuition, which is critical to my current venture because so much of what I do is dependent on reading people and instinctively responding to their needs.”

Linda Kozlowski was a genuinely exceptional actor. But in the end, we’re glad she chose to pursue her love.
