The animal painter has become a world-famous artist. When he was a piglet, his owner, Joanne Lefson, stopped him at the last minute from being killed.
The sale beat the old record of £14,000 for an animal-made work of art. It was made by a chimp named Congo in 2005.
Peter Esser, who is from Germany, bought the picture on Monday. It is called “Wild and Free.”
On a big canvas, the picture has blue, green, and white acrylic streaks. The painter worked on it for a long time.
Farm Sanctuary SA is a safe place for rescued farm animals in the Franschhoek Valley of South Africa. The pig and its owner live there.

After the piece was finished, it was shared on social media and sold in just three days.
“I wanted Pigcasso to make something that had never been done before,” Lefson said.
When some paintbrushes were left in the pig’s stall by mistake, the owner found out about their unique skill.
By taking care of it, Pigcasso has been able to make more than 400 works of art in the last five years.

It seems that these days, you don’t even have to be a person to work with a brand. The abstract art pig Pigcasso is collaborating with the Swiss watch company Swatch to make a watch.
The pig paints with its head in an expressionist style. The pig lives in South Africa and weighs almost a thousand pounds. Pigcasso seems to have a weakness for caramel popcorn.

Swatch has made watches with Damien Hirst, Victor Vasarely, Eva and Adele, and now this pink piece of art. Since 2016, the brand says, Pigcasso has been making beautiful artistic works with paint that is safe for kids and doesn’t harm the environment.
