Elegance meets hefty metal! Oona and Gage Brown, ice dancers for the US national team, are demonstrating their incredible skills here.
Their outstanding camera work is a clear reflection of their expertise. We captured the video below during a free dancing event at the ice rink at Bryant’s Park Winter Village in New York City in 2020. Gage and Oona Brown are the United States pewter medalists for 2019.
The Olympic dance squad consists of seven youngsters from the same household. They competed for the United States national team in 2018 and 2019, finishing eighth and ninth in the Junior Grand Prix.
After seeing their elder sister begin ice skating lessons in 2009, they both decided to give it a try. Gage began at the age of seven, following in the footsteps of his older sister. Starting at the age of five, Oona “clawed her way around the rink, refusing any help or to get off” throughout her first year.
Oona and Gage experimented with becoming separate musicians before forming their sibling duo. Both acknowledged that playing solo was highly nerve-racking; however, they both feel much more at ease and confident when they perform together at concerts.
