This performance of little Bruno Mars with an Elvis impersonation is so adorable that it melted everyone’s hearts

Bruno Mars has already won hearts with over 40 billion Spotify streams, solidifying his status as one of music’s biggest stars. But just when you thought he couldn’t be much cuter, a surprise moment warmed everyone’s hearts.

Imagine a four-year-old Bruno Mars, who is both charming and wide-eyed, captivates the audience with an Elvis impersonation that is so sweet that it would make anyone swoon. It was pure magic, and you fell even more in love with the man who had won hearts for years.

Fans were stunned when four-year-old Bruno Mars performed an adorable Elvis impression—in full costume, no less! In Hawaii, Young Mars dressed in a smart white suit and performed a confident medley of Elvis Presley’s classics on stage. Mars had a terrific stage presence and an impressive voice for a four-year-old in the 1989 performance. I believe some people are simply born to be stars.

Mars had the entire audience eating out of his hand, and his fellow performers were all beaming as the youngster worked the crowd. He even managed to execute some of Presley’s distinctive motions, making his other performers squeal with glee. The kid opens the video with “Blue Suede Shoes” and “Hound Dog” before tackling “All Shook Up.” Mars is a fan favorite here on The Music Man, and we’re even more so after hearing him perform the sweetest Elvis impression ever.

As a child, Mars was known for impersonating Elvis, and there are countless performances in which he sings the King of Rock and Roll’s songs. Fans were captivated by young Mars’ performances, leaving comments such as “That cute, amazing, talented kid grew up to be one of the best singers of our time” and “The kid started out doing Elvis, and he learned from the best, and now he’s a big star himself!”

The most popular footage of Mars mimicking Elvis was his appearance in the 1992 comic romance flick Honeymoon in Vegas. In this clip, Mars plays “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” while dressed in a blue jumpsuit. Mars was born on October 8, 1985, so he would have been six years old when he captured the sight. The film credited the Hawaiian star, born Peter Gene Hernandez, as Bruno Hernandez. He was given the moniker Bruno at the age of two owing to his likeness to wrestler Bruno Sammartino.

Readers of The Music Man may be pleased to learn that Mars began his career as an Elvis impersonator at the age of three. His uncle, an Elvis impersonator, served as his inspiration. Mars grew up in a musical household, with his father, Peter Hernandez, a Latin drummer, and his mother, Bernadette San Pedro Bayot, a hula dancer and vocalist. The first video in this post is his family band, The Love Notes, with his mother and father performing onstage.
