TV Show Stars Danielle and Adam Busby are proud parents of six children, including quintuplet daughters. Meet their children

Danielle Busby once changed more than 50 diapers a day and prepared 40 bottles in one session. Nearly a decade later, she manages six growing girls’ orthodontic appointments, sports schedules, and birthday t-shirts.

Adam and Danielle Busby never intended to become reality television’s go-to example of large-family parenting. However, after welcoming quintuplet girls, their daily hardships received national attention. With six children under one roof, the couple had to make continual changes, from unanticipated health issues to difficult financial decisions.

Almost a decade later, their household is still evolving. Their daughters are older, with more complex demands and developing personalities. Throughout it all, the Busbys have remained committed to raising individuals, protecting their family’s well-being, and revealing just enough to remind viewers why their tale is important.

Adam and Danielle already had a daughter, Blayke Louise, when they decided to try for another child. Danielle became pregnant with quintuplets following fertility procedures. On April 8, 2015, she welcomed five daughters: Ava Lane, Olivia Marie, Hazel Grace, Riley Paige, and Parker Kate.

They were born early, and each spent time in neonatal critical care before being released. That same year, production began on the TLC reality series “OutDaughtered,” which follows the Busbys’ shift from a family of three to a family of eight. The show began in 2016, only months after the quintuplets were born.

Their daily regimen consisted of almost 50 diaper changes and 40 bottles. The quintuplets were the first all-girl set born in the United States; thus, their tale was a national first and a source of media fascination from the outset. Behind the scenes, the family encountered problems that cameras did not always show.

When the quintuplets were approximately five years old, Danielle stated that she was experiencing a slew of unexpected health issues. She performed various medical tests, but physicians were unable to make a conclusive diagnosis. Her symptoms varied from physical discomfort and headaches to numbness, tingling, stomach issues, and skin problems.

In 2021, she revealed that her suspected autoimmune condition, which is difficult to diagnose, was under investigation. Danielle concentrated on reducing her symptoms through modifications in her routine and food. She began researching inflammation-related foods and sought to change her dietary habits.

She also put her mental health first, stating that fitness and faith helped her stay stable while managing uncertainty. Adam took on a bigger role at home to give Danielle space to relax when necessary.

“Just doing whatever I can with the kids and getting the kids out of the house so that she can just either have a day to just do what she wants to do or just relax in bed if it’s a day that she’s hurting,” Adam told me. “Then I simply support her whenever I can”—just being there to talk and hang out.”

While Danielle’s health remained unresolved, life at home continued to change. Filming for “OutDaughtered” began in 2015 and has lasted 10 seasons. As the youngsters grew older, they became more conscious of the filmmaking process.

Danielle added that the girls now understand the importance of videotaping and appearing on television. As a result, the family gives the children the option of whether or not to engage in shooting on any particular day.

Danielle explained, “If they want to shoot and be involved today, or if Blayke isn’t feeling it, that’s OK. We must adapt to their needs, and that is how we can ensure the well-being of our children.” She stated that the program depicts both the enjoyable and painful aspects of their lives.

“You see the bitterness and the cattiness and the family struggle, but that’s just real stuff,” she told me. By Season 10, filming had become more difficult to plan due to the girls’ extracurricular activities. Adam noted that all of the quintuplets were interested in numerous activities, and their eldest, Blayke Louise Busby, was on multiple school sports teams.

With events planned almost every evening, scheduling filming sessions has gotten more challenging. Nonetheless, the pair underlines that the show is merely one aspect of their lives, not the reason for it. According to Danielle, “We love having an outlet to share.”

Blayke has always had a distinct position in the family of six daughters. Blayke is Adam and Danielle’s firstborn daughter. She turned 14 on April 5, 2025. Danielle celebrated her birthday with an Instagram post.

“Happy 14th birthday to my darling Blayke Louise. I’m extremely proud of you as you grow into a wonderful young girl! You provide delight to everyone around you.”. You are a true blessing in our lives, and I hope you understand how special you are,” she added.

Blayke, being the only sibling who is not a multiple, has always had a unique perspective on family dynamics. Danielle, who grew up as the non-multiple sibling in her family, said she is particularly concerned with Blayke’s place in the group.

She stated that Blayke typically receives more particular attention at home to make her feel included and encouraged as she grows older. Adam pointed out that, while the show frequently highlights the quintuplets, Blayke receives more attention on a daily basis than any of the other children.

As a teenager, her interests have diverged from those of her younger siblings. Danielle noted that issues like males and makeup naturally put her apart from the quintuplets, who are still in the early stages of childhood. While Blayke’s journey is unique, the quintuplets have evolved into five separate individuals.

On April 8, 2025, the Busby quintuplets—Ava Lane, Olivia Marie, Hazel Grace, Riley Paige, and Parker Kate—turned 10. Danielle celebrated by posting a series of Instagram images with the ladies wearing matching white t-shirts.

Each jersey had the number 10 printed in a different color on the front, and the reverse said, “BRUH, IT’S MY BIRTHDAY.” Danielle captioned the post, “I can’t believe my quintuplets are 10. What a journey we’ve been on, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.” I love you all so much!”

Followers observed the physical disparities between the sisters, highlighting Parker’s height. One commenter commented, “I can’t believe they’re almost ten! What wonderful little wonders you all are. So proud of you, girls!!!”

“You can definitely see the individuality here—looks, height, personality—I love it, [sic]” said an additional writer. Other comments were, “It’s wild how much taller Parker is compared to the other girl,” and, “Wow, Parker has gotten so tall.” Others noted that Ava and Olivia resembled their elder sister, Blayke.

Danielle previously stated that Ava and Olivia are identical twins from the quintuplet set. She stated that they are emotionally and physically in sync, frequently sitting on top of one another without noticing. “They definitely have the identical feelings and emotions,” she told me.

Adam continued, “The identical twins never push back. […] They don’t care whether the other person touches them. It’s odd”. It is so different.” Danielle also mentioned that, while the five girls are extremely close, they are also emotionally sensitive to one another.

She added the quints frequently express worry when one of them is wounded or distressed, suggesting a common sense of empathy. Despite their tight link and common birthday, the Busbys have never regarded the quintuplets as a unified group.

Adam and Danielle have made parenting decisions based on each daughter’s specific needs since the quintuplets started school. Riley Paige began kindergarten before her sisters, who began preschool in the same year. Danielle provided justification for her decision, stating that Riley’s intelligence exceeded expectations.

She clarified that it was solely dependent on Riley’s readiness. She went on, “Of course, we looked at the family and how this change affects everyone else.” Some viewers and social media users criticized the move, particularly those who believed the girls should remain together academically.

Adam reacted to the criticism, saying, “In global history, only six parents have been faced with parenting all-girl quintuplets. Nobody out there understands the complexities of our judgments.” Both Adam and Danielle have stated that their parenting style is centered on respecting each girl as a unique individual.

They encourage their children to follow their interests, especially those related to sports and activities. Danielle stated, “We prioritize listening to our children and providing one-on-one time.” We enjoy splitting apart our females for one-on-one dates.”

To assist in managing their time and giving each girl care, the couple frequently separates the children into smaller groups, claiming to utilize a “divide and conquer” technique. Disciplining the girls is also done individually, based on how each daughter responds.

Danielle admitted that juggling the emotional needs of six different children is difficult, but it is something they emphasize. “We want to instill in them, ‘What is it that you like?’ and let that flourish[…] not push them into things that they’re uncomfortable with,” she told me.

As their girls have grown, Adam and Danielle have had to adapt to new habits and bills. Danielle highlighted how even minor costs may rapidly become huge when multiplied by six. She used school lunch as an example, adding that, while they attempt to bring lunches, the girls do eat at school on occasion.

“What is it, $2 per day ? But in our society, if they’re all eating, that’s anything from $10 to $15 per day — for a nutritious school lunch,” she explained. Larger costs pose even more challenges. Danielle estimated that transporting the quintuplets to summer day care would cost $2,500 for only five days.

“That’s outrageous,” she said. The couple wants to give their daughters those experiences, but they are looking for cheaper options. “They love to go,” she remarked.

Medical costs have also grown increasingly pressing. In the most recent season of “OutDaughtered,” the quintuplets went to the orthodontist for the first time. The orthodontist informed Danielle during the visit that the girls would require around $35,000 in dental work. In response to the estimate, she exclaimed, “That’s insane.” Riley overheard the talk and said, “That’s a lot of money.”

After a decade of filming “OutDaughtered,” Adam and Danielle continue to examine their role in the program each season. Danielle stated that they are continuously evaluating what works for their family and what needs to be changed.

While the program has offered a platform for documenting their lives, it has also resulted in a digital archive that the family values. Adam considered the long-term implications, stating that their children — and, eventually, grandkids — will be able to view their entire upbringing.

As they continue to raise six children and make long-term decisions, the Busbys stay committed to their original objective of creating strong individuals as a family.
