What happened to these ’90s heartthrob brothers, one of whom had rib resection surgery? Here is their story and pictures

These well-known brothers went from being young musical prodigies to loving husbands and fathers. They have encountered several hurdles throughout the years, including health concerns and sad incidents, while remaining active in the profession.

The heartthrob siblings of the 1990s are proud of their musical legacy, particularly from that defining period. Since then, one has undergone surgery, and another has been involved in an accident.

Their families have matured alongside their musical careers. With 15 offspring and love relationships that began during performances, the renowned brothers have reached significant milestones since their journey to superstardom.

Embracing Their 1990s Legacy

The band’s members continue to embrace their ’90s heritage. In a 2024 interview, they expressed their gratitude for receiving acclaim during that time and entering into the business when they did.

“We’re proud of where we came from. You don’t want to live in the past, yet that is where you came from.” It’s where you came from, and there was a lot of wonderful music,” they explained.

The trio remarked on the broad music landscape of the period: “Rock bands, pop bands, hip-hop, and R&B were all occurring at the same time. The Top 40 format clearly reminded us of a hip-hop format. We snatched No. 1 from the Notorious B.I.G. That’s what the music scene looked like.”

The era’s tumultuous terrain inspired their early musical careers. The brothers, who started recording music in 1992, said that the 1990s provided a surge of creativity that helped define their style and drew them back into the industry.

Those experiences culminated in their 1997 album “Middle of Nowhere,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and included the global smash “MMMBop.”

They admired musicians who were successful throughout the decade, such as Spin Doctors and Tonic. The brothers have since worked with other musicians from that era. They’ve collaborated with artists they respect and mentioned a prospective collaboration with Spin Doctors and Counting Crows.

Overcoming Creative Struggles

In 2013, the music stars overcame internal conflicts to release “Anthem.” “There was a very good chance that this band could have broken up,” the middle brother said, noting that after touring for “Shout It Out,” they were exhausted and stopped recording in early 2012.

The youngest stated they struggled for the album when they rejoined, while their elder brother wondered whether their next 20 years would begin with this record and what it should sound like.

Staying True to Their Sound

By 2020, the artists had pondered how “This Time Around” would influence their future. Despite being pressured to follow mainstream trends, they emphasized authenticity, working with producers such as Ric Ocasek.

The album received critical praise, but they separated themselves from the “Total Request Live” era, focusing on touring and cultivating a dedicated fan base.

Creative autonomy was not always easy, but they stayed true to their idea. “When you believe in it and when you are proud of it, success is already yours,” the group was saying.

Family First: Fatherhood and Love Stories.

Beyond music, their family has always come first. As a still-performing pop rock band, they find time for parenthood no matter what the circumstances are.

The oldest sibling insists on bedtime stories even after encores, but the middle brother feels that being a father entails prioritizing his child’s needs above everything else, even chats with famous artists.

Their great dedication to their families began when they met their spouses, each during a performance. During a joint interview in May 2022, the eldest described a “panic moment” when he discovered the woman he had been singing to during the concert was unimpressed with his celebrity.

His younger brothers met and married at the same time. In an unexpected twist, the oldest sibling subsequently acknowledged that he had originally intended to introduce himself to the two ladies who would eventually become his sisters-in-law.

The Hanson brothers’ commitment to family is also obvious in their houses, where each brother has built a life with their spouse and children.

Isaac, the band’s eldest member, married Nicole Dufresne in September 2006. They have three children. They have two boys, Everett and Monroe, and one daughter, Odette.

In 2024, the pair will celebrate 18 years of marriage. To honor the occasion, the family man sent a statement on Instagram, saying that no one had ever made him feel “happier or more special” than his wife.

Aside from music and family, the musician, who has followed artistic pursuits such as poetry and treehouse construction, experienced unforeseen health issues in his late twenties.

Decades ago, while playing in Dallas, he felt his shoulder expanding and his right arm becoming numb. Having previously had similar symptoms, he suspected the source and notified someone mid-show that a medical visit would be required.

Following the performance, he proceeded to the emergency department at Baylor University Medical Center, where physicians verified his suspicions: blood clots in his right arm, jugular vein, and lungs. It was a return of clotting difficulties he had experienced in 2003.

After the surgery, everyone expected the guitarist to recover in time for the band’s “Walk Tour” stop in Knoxville, Tennessee. With his arm covered with an Ace bandage, he stated that he was “good” and “lucky.”

Isaac was also hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism, which necessitated surgery to remove a blood clot, followed by rib resection surgery to remove his first rib. He complimented his wife on ensuring he took it easy during his rehabilitation and was pleased to have the health crisis behind him.

Excited to return to touring, he was optimistic that his guitar playing would not suffer, stating, “Let the rocking commence!”

Isaac, at 44, continues to captivate admirers’ attention with his appearance. One Instagram user commented, “Lookin good with the stash [sic].” “On a side note, I love the mustache! “You’re literally the first person I’ve liked with a mustache, which says something,” said one individual. Another person said, “You look great!”

Despite the gravity of the situation, the Virginia native told followers that he will recover with “a little rest and time, and a healthy dose of gaming.” Zac, 39, attributed his survival to his protective gear and thanked his brothers and Tulsa firemen for their assistance.

Despite ups and downs, the Hanson brothers continue to captivate their audience. “They are still lovely,” one admirer commented, while another said, “Ugh, they are all so handsome.” Obviously talented.” Someone more said, “How do they still look like teenagers but are trapped in middle-aged men’s bodies?”
