Over its decades on the air, Wheel of Fortune has welcomed hundreds of participants.
However, a recent Wheel of Fortune competitor may go down in history as making one of the worst estimates ever when he appeared on the show last week.
Matt had just successfully predicted a letter, giving him an advantage on the board, but then he utilized his imagination to come up with an answer so ridiculous that it will certainly go down in Wheel of Fortune history for the rest of the show’s popularity.
Despite the fact that the second word began with the letter N, Matt had it in his mind to blurt out his answer to the riddle. He famously answered, “The Best Buttercup,” despite the fact that his response was not the proper solution to the puzzle on the board.
Some viewers were confused as to whether Matt said “Buttercup” or “Buttercut,” but that is irrelevant. In any case, his recommended remedy will go down in Wheel of Fortune history as one of the most unusual ideas ever offered on the show.

Off-screen, presenter Pat Sajak couldn’t disguise his disgust for the contestant’s terrible prediction. “Uh, no,” he sarcastically said. Surprisingly, no.”
Matt correctly guessed the first word of the puzzle, “the.” However, the rest of it was completely wrong. The correct answer was “The Next Generation,” which has little in common with “The Best Buttercup,” which Matt felt was the correct answer.
Despite his terrible assumption on this task, Matt performed admirably throughout the game.
He won and received a significant sum of money as the winner. This was clearly a fluke and had no bearing on whether he was a good or terrible player. Perhaps one of the reasons he was able to thrive and win the show was his ability to take risks and speak his thoughts, even if it wasn’t always the proper response.
Several others took to Twitter to express their responses to Matt’s historical assumption.
“The best buttercup? #wheeloffortune @patsajak, how did you not crack up laughing or make one of your hilarious faces?”
“‘The best buttercup,’ sounds like something you’d say after the anesthesia wears off.” #WheelOfFortune”
“The man on the right just guessed “the next butter cut,” and I’m in stitches. @WheelofFortune, please tweet the clip!”
“Did this dude really say ‘the best buttercup?'”
Others expressed their surprise in the comments section of one person’s tweet.
“What I’m equally perplexed about is how this guy has $9,900 so far.” Any monkey could probably pick out a letter.”
“The wheel of fortune is becoming dummer.” The category is people, which you would assume would be someone, but the next generation is not people.”
“He knows the next generation is buttery-soft.”
“And, on top of that, the poor people (those contenders) who were beaten by this guy, Matt, Well, he truly won the whole game! Bahahaha!!”
What are your thoughts on this terrible Wheel of Fortune guess?
