L6, who is made up of five brothers and their niece, received an early release video when Simon discovered they had the makings of an a cappella ensemble during an audition.

The group began their performance by tearfully explaining that they were there to fulfill their late mother’s desire, and when they began singing the lyrics, they brought their emotions with them. The crowd and judges, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara, were blown away by their vocals. Simon, meanwhile, was “distracted.” So, he pushed them to halt.

“Everyone, I want to say something,” he said as the audience booed loudly. “There are several singing ensembles. I’m going to do something that I think will benefit you. Lose track… From my perspective, the track was dreadful. There aren’t many excellent a cappella ensembles, and I believe you have the potential to be one.

With the crowd applauding anew, L6 followed Simon’s instruction and jumped in without the background music. Surprisingly, they seamlessly modified their presentation and delivered an outstanding audition.

L6 received a heartfelt standing ovation after finishing their performance, and the judges had nothing but admiration and appreciation once the audience had quieted down.

“You could tell right away that this is an excellent singing trio. You were more special since you just took on everything without hesitation. It was more special. It was more memorable. And you just really nailed that.”
