Witness the romantic moment between the SVU co-stars, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, as they held hands courtside at the Knicks game

Benson and Stabler are taking on the Knicks!

On Friday, April 11, Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson) and Christopher Meloni (Elliot Stabler) were pictured sitting courtside at the New York Knicks’ game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actors appeared upbeat despite the home team’s narrow loss of 108-102.

“DUN DUN,” The Knicks captioned a photo of the SVU pair posted on X, referring to the distinctive sound associated with all Law & Order series.

Hargitay sported a long-sleeve gray shirt and a selection of bold necklaces for the excursion. Meloni, on the other hand, casually wore a black jacket, a t-shirt, and blue trousers while they clasped hands on the courtside.

Tracy Morgan, Matthew Modine, Susie Essman, Michael J. Fox, and Tracy Pollan were also present at the game. Despite their loss on Friday, the Knicks secured a first-round game against the Detroit Pistons.

Hargitay’s and Meloni’s friendship dates back to 1999, when they both earned jobs on SVU as Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler, respectively.

During their first screen test, Meloni was telling Hargitay a story, and they were so engrossed that they asked the executives for “one second” to finish it before continuing.

Though Meloni departed the program in 2011 owing to contract issues, he and Hargitay reunited for episode 2 of Law & Order: Organized Crime, the Stabler-focused spinoff.

All these years later, Hargitay and Meloni’s bond is still strong. Hargitay is the godmother of Meloni’s daughter Sophia, born in 2001.
