Over the years, countless spooky pictures have appeared on the internet. There’s no lack of such images if you seek them, from purported sightings of Bigfoot to alleged flying saucers in the sky to ghosts appearing in the windows of old, dilapidated homes.
Now, we’ll confess straight away that the great majority of these photographs aren’t quite as inexplicable as they appear to be.

Most of the time, the spooky aspect or frightening detail is either a coincidental blur of the camera or the product of someone who understands how to use Photoshop and has too much free time.
However, some photographs seem to defy logical explanation in certain ways. Just ask runner Kay Borleis, who discovered an unsettling detail in a shot taken while running 100 miles through the Hawaiian jungle. Why someone would put themselves through such a physical challenge is beyond me, but that isn’t the point here.
According to reports, Kay participated in the Hawaiian Ultra Running Team’s Trail 100-Mile Endurance Run in 2019, which involves running five circuits on a 20-mile loop through deep jungle.
Cassie, Kay’s friend, joined her as a pacemaker and took the photos during their run.
One of the generated photographs looked to depict Kay walking down a muddy route in the bush. However, when she examined the image more closely, she discovered a disturbing detail.
Kay posted on Reddit, adding, “My pacer snapped this shot.

“Look at the figure in the frame to the left of my head. We never saw anyone going by, and no monuments were along the walk.
“We haven’t photoshopped or created it.” This is legitimate.”
Close-ups of the shot reveal a dark person clothed in shabby clothes, who appears to be watching Kay run. However, Kay stated that no one was present at the time.
She explained, “According to mythology, there are spirits of Hawaiian warriors roaming the island, known as Night Marchers.
“Murderous shadows, devils, and revenants stalk the island. They are the ferocious, energized specters of ancient Hawaiian fighters, heroes, and warriors.

“After additional investigation, we discovered that ‘old Hawaiian teachings claim that any mortal staring upon or being observed in defiance of the procession will perish terribly and viciously. Some individuals claim that if a mortal lies quiet, down on the ground, prostrated before the marchers, they are showing due respect, fear, and reverence to the Night Marchers and will be forgiven and spared.
“Luckily, we did not see the supposed Night Marcher.”
