A woman has revealed the unexpected reason for the abrupt end of her marriage, which occurred just minutes after she exchanged vows and learned the truth.

What is supposed to be the greatest day of your life can suddenly turn into the worst, as hundreds of things may go wrong before you say ‘I do,’ as some of our favorite TV dramas have taught us over the years.

Whether it’s Mr. Big getting cold feet at the altar in Sex and the City or Ross in Friends famously calling his wife the wrong name—an ex-lover, no less—we’re all too aware of the plethora of ways a wedding may be canceled or made incredibly uncomfortable.

But it’s hard to imagine what could happen after signing the register that would make you want a divorce.

However, one bride from Melbourne, Australia, claims that her six-year romance with the ‘love of my life’ ended within an hour of going down the aisle.

Speaking on Nova’s Late Drive radio show, she said that her spouse abandoned her and fled shortly after their wedding, leaving her devastated and forced to attend their wedding alone.

She stated, “I had a very short marriage. It was not even 24 hours.”

“We were married and had a lovely ceremony. And he had gone to the celebration.”

The jilted woman said that her husband not only fled, but she did not hear from him for months.

She went on to say, “We had the ceremony, we took photos, and he was beautiful during the photoshoot; he was the love of my life.” And then he vanished.

“I didn’t hear from him for months.”

Despite his obvious absence, the abandoned bride did her best to maintain appearances during the wedding reception, with visitors seemingly unaware of the situation.

And that’s when the narrative takes an even more stunning turn, as she reveals that she subsequently discovered he was having an affair with her cousin.

“Everyone was OK staying and partying all night, but I went back to my room alone. He did not want to be with me”. He was seeing someone else the entire time, but he let us marry,” she told the radio station.

She claimed that friends and relatives continued to inquire about her marital life and honeymoon, while others continued to offer congratulations, plainly uninformed of the situation.

“It was really hard, especially talking to family members [who called to ask about the new husband the next day],” she told me.

“He’s with my cousin now, and he was cheating on me with her. I do not see him or my cousin. That would be really unpleasant.

Despite the eventual betrayal, she claims to have emerged unscathed with a humorous narrative.

“My kids think it’s hilarious,” she explained. “It’s brought up all the time.”
