Worried about a little girl and an elderly man, a flight attendant discovers a three-word note in the bathroom after takeoff

Shelia Frederick, an Alaska Airlines flight attendant, was suspicious when a man and a teenage girl boarded a trip from Seattle to San Francisco. The male was well-dressed, while the girl appeared disheveled and avoided making eye contact with everyone. Shelia couldn’t shake her worries and resolved to take a brave and daring measure to safeguard the girl’s safety.

Shelia urgently sought to establish eye contact with the girl while doing her responsibilities on the plane, conveying her concerns to a colleague. They planned a scheme to divert the man’s attention while Shelia sought to converse with the girl. Shelia excused herself and exited the plane, overtaken with emotion.

Shelia developed an amazing method for locking a piece of paper and a pencil in one of the plane’s lavatories and unlocking them solely for the girl’s use. She mouthed “bathroom” and mimed writing, thinking the girl would get it.

Fortunately, the girl excused herself to visit the restroom, but the male remained nearby. Shelia, adamant about not leaving the location, kept a close eye on the man. The girl found the message in the restroom and wrote back, exposing her desperate cry for help.

Shelia quickly notified the pilot, who promptly called ground control to arrange with police the man’s apprehension upon landing. Shelia’s brave efforts saved the girl from a possibly deadly scenario.

Shelia kept in touch with the young woman she rescued from human trafficking throughout the years. They have chatted numerous times, and the girl has subsequently sought further education; she is presently enrolled in college.

Shelia highlights the need to speak up when anything appears strange, and she encourages people to act and disclose any concerns they may have. Her bravery and fast thinking had a tremendous influence on the little girl’s life, providing a striking reminder of how one person can make a difference in averting damage.
