You’ll erupt in amusement as 4 guys present what must be one of the funniest and most innovative school talent show performances ever, putting their own distinctive twist on a medley of classic pop hits

It’s exciting to see youngsters perform at school talent shows, whether they’re singing, dancing, or demonstrating another ability. Even though it’s fair to say that every competitor deserves credit for standing in front of their peers and giving it their best, now and then you’ll see a performance that truly jumps out, displaying originality that surpasses the rivals’ ages.

Four fifth-grade students from New Braunfels Christian Academy in Texas performed like this during the Elementary Talent Show in 2017. To keep their performance a secret until the conclusion, the kids began by covering themselves with a black cloth. The boys tore away the cloth to reveal their newborn costumes, which included miniature prosthetic legs they could move around with their arms. The crowd busted out laughing right away, and that was only the beginning.

What followed was even more well received by the audience: the lads performed innovative and amusing dances to various popular tunes while dressed in suits. As the opening track, the lads passionately mimed and danced to the chorus of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.” Carl Douglas’ “Kung Fu Fighting” was the crowd’s favorite; they yelled and applauded as the four dancers demonstrated their kung fu skills while clad in suits.

First and foremost, this cheeky foursome isn’t the only group of fifth graders to bring the house down in a talent show; in fact, eight of them did the same at Porter Elementary School in 2014. The students performed a synchronized swimming performance to classical music on a blue plastic sheet that served as a fake pool. The excited audience greeted the eight students with well-deserved cries and applause after they finished.

These two films, which have received over 30 million views, exemplify the breadth of originality and aptitude shown by school talent shows. Keeping an audience interested for even five minutes is a difficult task, and only some possess the requisite abilities. However, these young people easily did it.
