On December 11,22, Joyce DeFauw, who is now 90 years old, received her college diploma. This comes more than 50 years after she dropped out of school to start a family.
The year 1951 marked Joyce’s first year of college attendance. She is a grandmother to 17 individuals and a great-grandmother to 24 people at this point in her life.
According to Joyce, who spoke with the local media about her decision, going back to school was something that she did because of her family.
After leaving school for a number of decades, she eventually attended Northern Illinois University and received a bachelor’s degree in general studies from there.
As she gives advice to other people, she tells them to “Stay persistent. Even if you feel like giving up, you shouldn’t. Remain persistent.
Keep up your efforts to educate yourself. Always remember to be thankful. For you, it is available. Just put yourself out there.”
You should never give up on your dreams; instead, you should dream even bigger, even further, and just desire. It is never too late, and it is never too early; all you need to do is take a chance, and you should be proud of where that chance will have you standing!
Additional details regarding Joyce’s experience can be found in the video that can be found above!
It will brighten their day and fill their hearts and souls with love and light as well as only wonderful and positive energy if you share it with your friends and family.
