Cody Rhodes purchases the whole New York Class for WrestleMania 40: ‘It was priceless to see their reaction’

WWE superstar Cody Rhodes is making the dreams of a Brooklyn classroom’s “Wrestling Club” come true. The students, who have been running a popcorn fundraiser to attend WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, caught Rhodes’ attention. In a tweet, Rhodes announced that he would cover the cost of the students’ tickets and hotel rooms for the event.

KIPP AMP Middle School teacher Victor Taylor Perry leads the “Wrestling Club,” which has gained recognition for using professional wrestling as an educational tool. Perry focuses on teaching students about storytelling formats, story arcs, and character development through pro wrestling.

Rhodes’ tweet about sponsoring the students’ WrestleMania trip elicited an ecstatic response from the students, captured in a video by Perry. Rhodes expressed his delight at the positive impact on the kids, stating, “Good things happening to good people.”

Perry, known for his work with “The Wrestling Club,” has received attention and support from the professional wrestling community. WWE wrestlers like Rhodes, Big E Langston, Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, and Titus O’Neil have collaborated with Perry, even surprising the students in their Brooklyn classroom.

Rhodes, blown away by the sense of community fostered by The Wrestling Club, is considering meeting up with the students at WrestleMania 40 in April. He mentioned his wife Brandi’s interest in arranging a meeting with the kids during the event, considering surprising them at the school as well.

WrestleMania 40 is scheduled for April 1 and 2 in Philadelphia, and Rhodes, who featured in the main event matchup last year, is anticipated to challenge WWE Champion Roman Reigns for a rematch at this year’s event.
