Simon Heidi Klum received the Golden Buzzer for his amazing AGT performance.
Another night of America’s Got Talent quarterfinal performances can only mean one thing: another live Golden Buzzer to recognize a remarkable talent and pull on viewers’ hearts.
This week, Heidi Klum wielded authority as she witnessed a number of amazing acts pass by the stage without pushing the Golden Buzzer. It wasn’t until she watched singer Dee Dee Simon enter the stage that the lifelong judge claimed her stomach began to speak to her, compelling her to press the button and make the present jail nurse and future superstar’s dream a reality.
Dee Dee grabbed the stage and immediately began a powerful performance of Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control.”
The song was strong, allowing her to showcase her booming and hype-worthy voice to not only the AGT audience but the entire globe. She found vocal lines in the song worthy of a candidate on The Voice, further demonstrating her potential as an AGT Golden Buzzer winner.
Perhaps the most eye-catching aspect of Dee Dee’s performance occurred approximately halfway through, when she began to feel the music and the audience observed her do something unusual. The artist took off her high heels to become more nimble on stage as she felt the music flow through her. The entire performance suddenly moved into high gear. The move was similar to what she did during her show audition, when she decided it was time to ditch the heels and do all she could to feel like she was back in her kitchen performing for her kid, husband, and mother (all of whom were present to cheer her on live).
Howie Mandel started things off (literally) by taking off his shoes and clapping in support of the performance.
“There are no words,” he announced. “You knocked your shoes off; you knocked my shoes off!”
Simon Cowell went on to say how much he enjoys it when someone who isn’t a full-time performer gets to take the AGT stage and show the world what they can accomplish.
“Nothing was holding you back,” he explained. “There was no fear, and you were saying, ‘You know what? This describes who I am. This is my talent.” And you just went for it.”
Sofia Vergara concurred, describing Dee Dee as “a real person living her dream!”
Klum, on the other hand, added the finishing touch to this memorable performance. She mentioned how much she enjoyed Dee Dee’s presence on stage before admiring her golden dress.
“But I feel like something is missing,” she said with a flirtatious smile. “It could be something as simple as a sparkling belt, ring, or gold…” My stomach is talking to me.”
With that, Klum pressed the Golden Buzzer, pushing Dee Dee Simon over America’s Vote and ensuring her place in the finals. How will she do in the last stage of the competition? Fans will have to stay tuned to find out.
