The new edition of the talent competition premiered today from an unexpected place.

The coaches’ debut performance on The Voice confused observers.

The new season of The Voice UK premiered on Saturday night, leaving fans perplexed. The ITV show began the new series with new judges and an unusual venue that puzzled fans.

The judges, Tom Jones, LeAnn Rimes, will.i.am, Danny Jones, and Tom Fletcher, began the show with a stunning rendition of Miley Cyrus’ Midnight Sky. Rimes, Fletcher, and Jones replace Anne-Marie and Olly Murs from last year’s panel.

While viewers enjoyed the show, many wondered where the stars were. The performance took place on the pitch of Manchester’s Old Trafford Stadium. Fans quickly flocked to X, previously known as Twitter, to inquire why they were there.

Jordan and Bailey wrote, “Does anyone know why they just hired out Old Trafford to do that? #The Voice #TheVoiceUK.”

Following the performance, ITV reported that each of the coaches received their own bespoke Manchester United jerseys.

The talent competition features unsigned singers competing to convince the judges to flip their chairs around without ever watching the audition. The winner will receive a recording deal, a large monetary award, and a trip to Universal Resort in Orlando.

Each coach is required to select ten singers from blind auditions to form their teams, to advance one to the final round of The Voice UK. Emma Willis returns as host of the show.
