Every day her mother used to say to her, “You’re ugly, and you have a big noss”

Jennifer Aniston, well known for her role in Friends, has also appeared in films such as We’re the Millers and Horrible Bosses.

Her childhood, however, was not pleasant with her mother, actress Nancy Dow. Jennifer’s upbringing was filled with continual correction and trauma, leaving her with long-lasting emotional scars. Her mother was a single mom who struggled, and their connection was tense.

Jennifer’s mother’s daily criticism was especially devastating, as she constantly informed her that she was “ugly” and had a “big nose.” Jennifer’s self-esteem and confidence suffered as a result of the constant criticism. Despite living in the same house as her mother, Jennifer couldn’t help but believe that she didn’t fulfill her mother’s beauty standards.

Jennifer’s parents had a difficult marriage that ended in divorce. She opted to remain with her mother following the breakup. Her father, with whom she had a rocky connection, was a minor figure in her life. Jennifer’s mother, in fact, urged her to accept criticism quietly.

Jennifer once resisted her mother’s rebuke, and her mother laughed in her face, sending the message that she should accept criticism without struggle.

Jennifer also had to deal with dyslexia, a learning disorder that has a substantial influence on her reading, writing, and spelling abilities, resulting in considerable scholastic obstacles.

Jennifer gradually learned, despite the intense pressure and criticism, that she wasn’t as defective as her mother had led her to feel. Her self-esteem soared after landing her first Hollywood part, and she got a nose operation.

Her mother, on the other hand, continued to sabotage her accomplishment. During the height of her celebrity on “Friends,” Jennifer’s mother openly criticized her, which profoundly affected her.

Jennifer made the hard choice to cut off communication with her mother in retaliation. To escape her mother’s presence, she even skipped her own wedding to Brad Pitt. They hadn’t spoken to each other for 15 years.

Jennifer had a stunning insight after years of treatment to confront her terrible past. She understood that her mother’s harsh criticisms and reprimands were born out of love and a desire for her daughter to succeed. Jennifer’s mother’s purpose was not to be unkind but to encourage her to be the best version of herself.

Jennifer Aniston ascribed her perseverance and character to her childhood, saying, “My mother spoke to me in this way because she loved me and wanted the best for me.” She didn’t try to be cruel; she just didn’t realize the pain she was inflicting on me would only stop after years of treatment.”
