As soon as they moved into their new house, the Robinsons started arranging the baby’s nursery so that it would be ready when the new member of the family arrived.
At just four months, Mrs. Robinson gave birth to her second child, a boy.
The Robinsons had a deep love for animals, but due to their landlord’s ban on owning a dog in their apartment, they shifted their interest from adopting a dog to a puppy.
To choose a puppy, the two spouses took their 6-year-old son Matias to an animal shelter. They wanted a nonviolent dog that could grow up on the farm with the children.
They were hesitant about which puppy to select after viewing the paddocks and learning about some of the puppies’ tragic lives.
They ran across 4-year-old pit bull Benson as they were leaving. He looked to have lost confidence in humanity as he walked back, tail tucked between his legs.
When the Robinsons inquired about Benson, the animal shelter officials informed them that he lived a really horrible existence.
He was abandoned on the streets after being used in dog fights, and volunteers spotted him.
Benson spent some time in the dog shelter before being adopted by a couple. However, after just two weeks, they returned Benson to the shelter on the grounds that he was violent toward his owners.
Benson was adopted despite the volunteers’ advice that he not live with children.

Mr. Robinson asked that Benson be given a chance. Despite the fact that Benson despised having a leash and that getting to the car was difficult, they ultimately arrived home.
Benson was first quite timid, reserved, and alone. But, over time, Benson was able to adjust and build bonds with all of the family members, notably Matias.
Mrs. Robinson gave birth, and they carried the child home and presented him to Benson.
He gave the infant a sniff before gently licking his face. Benson was a wonderful dog, and his owners knew right away that they would get along.
A loud barking woke the Robinsons up one night when the newborn was barely two months old.
He continued barking and attempted to enter the crib, but the safety bars prevented him. He began tearing apart the crib to reach the infant.
The Robinsons were initially alarmed when they noticed the newborn was not breathing, leading them to believe that Benson was attempting to harm the boy.
Medical personnel transported him to a local hospital and revived him. The doctor warned the parents that their kid would have died if the cardiorespiratory arrest had lasted more than 30 minutes.
Benson rose to prominence as he established that nothing happens by coincidence. He eventually saved the Robinson family’s infant, giving Benson a chance.
