Jada Pinkett Smith has been candid about her hair loss issue for years, and she has discussed it extensively on social media and on “Red Table Talk.”
On the May 21, 2021, edition of her Facebook program, she stated that it was “terrifying when it first started.” The actress was in the bathroom when her once-luscious locks fell out by the “handful.” She was “shaking with fear” over losing her hair.

She revealed why she had been cutting her hair shorter and shorter. For the actress, her hair “has always been a big part of” her, and caring for her locks is a “beautiful ritual.” Pinkett Smith loved having the option of having or not having hair.
She shared a video of her bare head near the end of 2021, showing the marks where her hair had gone out due to alopecia. She pointed to a long, bare line just an inch above her hairline, which she jokingly described as looking like she had “brain surgery or something.”

“This here hair looks like it’s trying to make a comeback.” “There are still some rough spots, but we’ll see,” Pinkett Smith tweeted on Monday.
“Slide 1: Past,” she said, pointing to a picture of her bald head dressed in a white teddy-cloth sweater and a diamond necklace. “Slide 2: Present,” she commented on her peroxided pixie hairstyle in a casual garden photo.

The controversial smack her husband, Will Smith, gave Chris Rock, who earlier created a documentary about black women’s hair, after he made a disrespectful comment about her baldness at the 2022 Oscars, has sparked much debate.

Some of the criticism was directed at Jada Pinkett Smith, who had made it the punchline of multiple postings before the award presentation. She’d rolled her eyes when Rock said he couldn’t wait to see her in “G.I. Jane 2.”
For example, in mid-2021, she shared a “How it started vs. how it’s going” meme featuring photographs of her with a flowing head of hair and a shaved dome side by side.

“Jada Pinkett Smith has been rocking a bald look for a while, but some changes appear to be in the works,” an X influencer tweeted regarding the star’s hair growth update. “Do you have any ideas?”
“She had no alopecia.” “That was a buzz cut, and you don’t see stubble with alopecia,” one person observed. “She’s a phony, lol,” said another. “I knew she was faking her alopecia!” “Your hair (most of the time) grows back!”

A TMZ report on the “comeback” elicited a similar reaction on social media. “Let’s be clear: she diagnosed herself with alopecia. “The entire family should leave,” one individual speculated.
“She lied about the alopecia,'” one person asserted. “I don’t think she’s ever had alopecia.” “I could always tell it was shaved down to the extreme,” remarked one X user.
