In a devastating message, Justin Timberlake states he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease

Justin Timberlake has made a heartbreaking revelation regarding his health, stating that he has Lyme disease.

The ‘Selfish’ singer has been touring the world for the past two years and has now had time to reflect on his life.

Timberlake admitted that he is typically a ‘quiet person,’ but he wanted to inform fans ‘a little bit about what’s going on with [him].’

He commented on Instagram, “As many of you know, I am a very private guy. But, as I reflect on the tour and festival tour, I’d want to tell you a little about what’s going on with me.

“Among other things, I’ve been dealing with some health issues and was recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, which I’m not saying to make you feel sorry for me, but to shed some light on what I’ve been up against behind the scenes.” If you’ve had this condition or know someone who has, you understand how devastating it can be, both psychologically and physically.

His frank article continued: “When I originally received the news, I was really stunned. But, at the very least, I understood why I might be onstage and in excruciating nerve agony, or just exhausted or ill.

“I was presented with a personal decision. Stop touring? Alternatively, keep going and find it out. I realized that the joy of performing greatly exceeds the temporary stress my body was experiencing. I am so pleased I continued going.”

Timberlake also stated that he was reluctant’ to come out about his health issues, but he is now ‘trying to be more upfront about my challenges so that they aren’t misconstrued.’

The singer said, “I hope we can all connect more.” “I’d like to do my part to help others experiencing this disease too.”

Bella Hadid is another celebrity who has openly spoken about their fight with Lyme disease.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the condition is caused by Borrelia bacteria, which are commonly contracted after being bitten by a tick.

“You’re at risk of Lyme disease if you spend time where the ticks live, such as grassy, brushy, or wooded areas,” concludes the article. “Taking safety measures in these areas can lower the risk of Lyme disease.”

Ticks are found across the United States, although the illness is most prevalent in the upper Midwest, Northeast, and mid-Atlantic areas.

There are also several cases of Lyme disease in Europe and portions of Canada.
