The Love Is Blind family is expanding by one more!
Lauren and Cameron Hamilton are expecting their first child together, according to a couple’s representative. The couple, who met and married in season 1 of the Netflix hit, spoke with PEOPLE about their pregnancy and relationship with Clearblue, revealing that their wonderful news has been something they’ve been waiting for.
“We were counting down the days till we could test because we did IVF [in vitro fertilization],” Cameron recently told PEOPLE. “We knew that this was the day we were going to take the test. Of course, we’re having a blood test later that day, but we couldn’t wait any longer.”

“We conducted the traditional test, and we both entered the bathroom to examine the Clearblue test, which was inverted,” he said. “We flipped it over. “We saw the word pregnant, and it was a tremendous thrill to see it on the test. This was a…”
“A relief,” Lauren adds for her spouse. “Because, well, we’ve taken a few pregnancy tests, and using the ones with the lines can be anxiety-inducing because you’re like, ‘Is that what I think?'” So seeing the word pregnant was incredible. We simply gazed at each other. I collapsed to my knees and wept.
“It’s been a long time coming,” she explains. “We’ve literally been trying to get pregnant for four years.”
The two have previously spoken openly about their infertility issues, including an episode of their podcast, The Love Seat, from October. Lauren now describes the emotion of receiving a positive pregnancy test as “indescribable.”
“I lost my father at Christmas of last year,” she confides. “So we took this test at the end of January/beginning of February, so it was literally light in the darkness. This was really impressive. The spark that my entire family needed. We had been trying for a long time.”

“It was a little bittersweet because my dad’s not here physically to be with us, but we know that he’s watching over us,” Lauren says. “So I was like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe this.'” We felt very lucky, appreciative, pleased, and delighted. Then it hit me: ‘We’re going to be parents.” Oh, my God.”
The mother-to-be adds that her husband has been extremely supportive throughout their IVF journey, saying that while it may be difficult to go through as a pair, Cameron has been there for her every step of the way.
“He’s just been so kind, patient, and fantastic.” I consider myself extremely fortunate to have a partner like him,” Lauren adds.
While her first trimester was “rough,” Lauren is now in her second trimester and has primarily developed food aversions — yet there is one thing she can’t get enough of.
“One thing that I do crave is cheese,” she tells us. “I want cheese puffs, macaroni, and cheese.” I just want ordinary shredded cheese in my mouth. “I’ve always liked cheese and fruit.”

As the couple prepares to welcome their child, they’ve been able to seek advice from some of their Love Is Blind castmates, particularly their close friends Amber and Matt Barnett, who just had their first child together.
“Amber is full of advice,” Lauren adds. “She’s providing me with honest and insightful advice.”
With only a few months remaining, the pair says they’re most looking forward to recreating their childhoods and becoming kids again.
“I am looking forward to, first off, just holding the baby and hearing that first cry, but also just reliving my childhood through the baby, doing all the fun stuff,” Lauren tells me. “Disney on Ice: The Zoo.” Being a big kid again and seeing it through their eyes will be wonderful.”

Cameron would like to continue one specific tradition with his own child.
“I think, of course, in the beginning stages, just being with the baby—I mean, it doesn’t have to be anything in particular at first,” adds Cameron.
“I think about when my dad, when they brought me back home from the hospital that first night, I slept on my dad’s chest, so maybe we can keep that tradition going.”
