Everyone advises us to drink two liters of water every day, but what if you substitute that amount with nearly three times the amount of soda? Tom Bowey has done just that, and he’s revealed the striking changes that have occurred in his body, which may inspire you to reconsider starting a sugary drink habit. Tom was such a fan of sugary drinks that his friends nicknamed him ‘Dr. Pepper Man’ due to his monthly spending of around $325 on soda. Over the last decade, the father-of-two allegedly spent $38,000 on Dr Pepper, resulting in a significant financial loss. As you might guess, Tom has had several health issues throughout the years, including sleeping troubles and poor oral health. The man from Buckinghamshire in England also has frequent headaches and bloating.
“For a while, my teeth weren’t too bad, but then I went to the dentist, and he said the level of acid erosion was similar to what he’d expect in a 70-year-old,” said the individual. “I basically have the teeth of a pensioner.” I also constantly felt bloated, as consuming sugar can lead to significant weight gain. Tom described how his sugary drink addiction began, saying, “It started with one [drink] with lunch, and then me and my coworkers started buying each other drinks throughout the day.” ” They would bring them over from a cafe near work. There was also a vending machine, so I could grab them anytime I wanted. Before I knew it, all I was drinking was water, and eventually I stopped drinking altogether.
The British guy went on: “I used to buy the 24-can multipacks, so I always had them and had at least five cans in the fridge all the time.” I’d drink my first one as soon as I woke up, and I’d always bring a can with me on the way to work.” Before arriving at work, I would purchase two bottles from the shop in the morning, followed by another two in the afternoon. Once home, I would continue to consume more alcohol in the evening before going to bed. With his girth expanding, Tom realized he needed to make some dramatic adjustments and chose to pursue hypnotherapy. Tom now prefers water and weak squash when he needs a drink. After a two-hour Zoom appointment with Dr. David Kilmurry, he decided to quit entirely. “I don’t look at fizzy drinks; I’m not remotely tempted,” he told me.
