Meryl Streep’s rare appearance with her family after news of her divorce from her husband

Meryl Steep’s entourage has arrived!

On Sunday evening, the three-time Oscar winner and her family went to the 3rd Annual Academy Museum Gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

Henry Wolfe Gummer, 44, and daughters Mamie Gummer, 40, Grace Gummer, 37, and Louisa Jacobson, 32, were Streep’s four children from her previous marriage to Don Gummer, who is now 74 years old. Henry’s wife, Tamryn Gummer, and Grace’s husband, Mark Ronson, were also there for the gorgeous evening out.

Her children were dressed in dazzling black-tie clothes to honor their mother as she received the Icon Award. Her daughters, all actors, dressed in black like their mother: Grace donned a long-sleeve black gown, Mamie wore a Bevza number with rips at the bodice, and Louisa wore a silver-embroidered A-line gown with an Edie Parker handbag.

The disclosure comes six weeks after people revealed that Streep and her children’s father had secretly stopped their love connection six years ago.

“Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart,” a Streep spokeswoman told PEOPLE.

Streep and Gummer met in 1978 through the actress’s brother, when she was mourning the death of her two-year partner, fellow actor John Cazale. Six months later, in September 1978, she and Gummer married in her parents’ yard. They continued by welcoming Henry, Mamie, Grace, and Louisa.

Although the couple has not been seen publicly together since the 2018 Oscars, the Sophie’s Choice actress was recently photographed wearing her wedding band at the 2023 Princesa de Asturias Awards in Spain on Oct. 20.

Streep has five grandchildren in addition to being a mother of four. Son Henry has two children with his wife Tamryn; daughter Mamie has two children with her husband Mehar Sethi; and Grace has one child with her husband Ronson, 48.

Streep recently revealed a wonderful habit she and her daughters enjoy, namely, watching two specific movies over and over again.

“Mean Girls and Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion are pretty much religious texts in my house,” Streep told Vogue in a September interview, coinciding with the film’s 15th anniversary.

“Those are the movies that I rewatch the most with my girls to this day,” the actress continued.
