A mother has shared the harrowing experience of a freak accident that caused severe burns to her five-year-old daughter, Brixx Lee, resulting in the need for surgery.

On April 5, while Amber Peters was busy in her bedroom doing laundry, Brixx was playing with her siblings. In a moment of playfulness, Brixx collided with her older sister, Nahla Peters, who was handling a bowl of hot ramen just taken out of the microwave. The scalding liquid spilled onto Brixx’s head and down the side of her face and ear, prompting a distressing scream heard by Amber from downstairs.

Rushing to her daughter’s aid, Amber found Brixx in excruciating pain, her skin already beginning to melt off her face. The severity of the accident led Amber to immediately call 911, and Brixx was swiftly transported to the local ER via ambulance, where she received pain relief and was sedated.

Doctors performed a debridement to remove the damaged skin, revealing second-degree burns. Brixx was discharged the next day, but her condition worsened overnight, with her eyes swelling shut. Rushed back to the hospital, a CAT scan revealed significant facial tissue damage, leading to surgery.

Amber emphasizes the importance of caution, urging parents to be vigilant about potential hazards, no matter how seemingly insignificant, as accidents can happen unexpectedly. She hopes her story serves as a reminder to other parents to prioritize safety in their homes.
